FS/FT G&L ASAT: Tobaccoburst w/ natural binding and rosewood

Hey guys,

I JUST got this really really nice bass off the boards, but I've come to the realizations that a) there is NO market for bassists anywhere in the area and b) I am more interested in programming and keyboards right now and coincidentally there is a HUGE market for that in my area, and probably elsewhere as well, and c) my bass rig is worth far more than the time I'm playing it outside my bedroom, which is ZERO.

So, I would like to downsize my gear. I am ONLY interested in downsizing, which means I am going to need cash + trade.

I would like a Warwick Corvette with single coil pickups, bubinga body, and fretted neck but I will look at fretless basses. The trade value of the ASAT is ~$800 and the trade value of Corvettes on the market right now is ~$500, which means I'm looking at ~$300 in cash on your end. The classifieds on TB will confirm this. I may look at Streamers if they are close in value to a Corvette.

Other trades + cash are:
-Roland Juno-G
-Alesis Micron (especially if you have the Sweetwater Blue SE )
-A nice MIDI controller

The only two flaws in the bass are a very minor finish scratch on the back and a chip in the headstock, as pictured. There is currently a Dillinger Escape Plan sticker covering the scratch, but I can remove that if you're not a Dillinger fan. Liam Wilson uses L2000's and an ASAT, so there's always the chance a buyer will dig the sticker

Here's some pics from the previous owner. Nothing has changed in the two weeks since I got it...

No market for bassists?!? Impossible!

Great looking bass though. I love G&L's tobacco burst.

I know right? I've been running into this issue since I started playing about 3 years ago. There are too many bassists in Wadsworth, Ohio and apparently not enough programmers in Kent, which is where I like to hang out. I've been wanting to get good synth equipment for a while and do some Gnarls Barkley/Radiohead/Bjork/Gorillaz/Portishead stuff, so it looks like now is the time.

And replied.

No one has asked these questions yet and I expect to hear them eventually even though some of them should be self evident, so I will answer them in advance.

-It is made in the USA. There is no Tribute model of the ASAT bass.
-It does come in the OHSC. It is in the picture.
-It is a 3 bolt neck as opposed to the 6 bolt.
-I do not know what year it is, only that it is newer than 1993.
-The nut width is 1/2"

Hey Noah, good luck with the sale/trade. I was the last owner of this bass and it is a very cool instrument.

oh, btw, that old L2000 you traded to me has banished all of my other 4 strings into obselecence. I love that bass.

Thanks man. It is an amazing instrument for sure. I can get pretty much any tone out of it that I need, and the neck is insanely comfortable. I love the color and everything, I just can't justifying keeping a bass of this caliber around since I haven't played for anyone except myself in months and I need some other software/hardware.

Glad to hear you're liking that L2000! It was a beast.

I had a potential deal lined up that fell through.

Let's bump this up I know there's an ASAT lover out here somewhere itching for a nice tobaccoburst...

For sale price would be $800 plus shipping.

Would you be interested in a cash sale? If so, how much?

I can't believe nobody is interested in this!

Bump for $800 + actual shipping which will probably be around ~$34.

This is now for sale only.

I have to pay for:
-School and books
-The down payment on a new car since my transmission went out yesterday.
-And I would like a Macbook.

$800 + shipping is very fair in my opinion.

The ONLY trades I will consider is for a Macbook Pro.

I cannot believe that no one is interested. Do you guys want more pictures?

If this doesn't sell by the end of the week I'm gonna eBay it, but I would much rather work out a deal on here.

Well guys, By Some Miracle (which is the single off of the new solo album by Phil Selway, drummer for Radiohead, buy it) my tuition and car are taken care of. So, now I just want a Macbook. Or you can trade me for Logic Pro 9 Studio, a nice midi controller (preferably a 49-key M-Audio Axiom), an Alesis Micron, or a Roland Juno-G.
