Nice bass. MIK. 9lbs. Not sure what the finish is called ("honey"?), but it's a beautiful color.
The bad:
--Came to me set-up poorly. Lots of fret buzz, etc.
--Frets 17-21 "sprouted" soon after I got it.
--Three neck screws were stripped when I got it.
The good:
--It's now set-up well and intonated well with medium action.
--I replaced frets 17-21 myself with the proper fret wire and leveled all the frets to a 9.5" radius. It now plays much better than when I received it. Much better, believe me!
--I widened the neck screw holes and installed stainless steel screw inserts and screws. This thing is beyond stable.
End result is a bass that functions 100%, and plays and sounds great! Big, wide bottom with both pickups on. And each pickup has more than enough balls to stand on its' own.
A few dings here and there. And there are some cosmetic issues where I replaced the frets. This was my first "fret job" and the frets I replaced could have been rounded a little better. But since it plays so good I decided to leave well-enough alone! See the pictures for up close and personal details.
If you're looking for an inexpensive player, this is a good contender. If cosmetics are a priority for you (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) I would advise against this bass. $350 shipped/insured in a halfway decent hardshell case.
For trades I'm looking for a "traditonal/modern" type of thing. Think J/J or P/J with Barts or EMG. That type of thing. Just looking for basses right now. But hey!, I don't mind tirekicking. If you've got something in mind let me know!!
Here's are the "bad" pics to start out with. Frets 17-21 and the replaced neck screws.
