I have been buying, selling, and trading on here a fair amount recently as a way to try new basses and figure out what I like. One thing I figured out is that I don't like jazz basses
. Another is that I love the sound of a good P bass
. So, I'm offloading my two jazz style basses to get a P style bass. I'm open to trades for any P style basses and have cash I can put into the deal for the right bass. I am not a huge Fender fan, but don't hate them either. I'm looking at G&L (or Tribute) SB-1/SB-2/LB-100, Schecter Model T, or other similar basses. I need at least 18mm spacing at the bridge and 4 strings. I like jazz width necks, but wider isn't a deal breaker. If you have anything else interesting, the worst I can do is say no
First up, my Gamma Beta fretless in Navajo Orange. I traded for this bass about 5 months ago and love the way it plays. So much so that I ordered a Gamma Alpha fretless with the same neck. Since I got my Alpha, the Beta has been hanging on the wall collecting dust. So, off it goes to a new home. It is super light weight (bathroom scale puts it at 7.2lbs)! Neck is a thin jazz style 1.5" at the nut and thin front to back with an ebanol fingerboard. It is in great condition, with one ding on the edge near the jack that the previous owner says happened during shipping to him. It also has some of the typical marks on the fingerboard that fretless basses tend to get. It is currently strung with GHS Pressure wounds, but I could swap them for Chromes or what I think are DR flats.
Asking $350 shipped west of the Mississippi, another $25 to ship farther east. --SOLD--
Next up is a G&L Tribute JB-2 in bust finish. I'm sure there's a scratch on it somewhere, but I can't find one. Plays great, not too heavy (8lbs on the bathroom scale). It has the #8 neck that comes standard on these which is a bit thicker than a Fender jazz neck, but is still 1.5" at the nut. I haven't bothered to take great pictures of it because it is easy to find stock ones online, but let me know if you want better pics and I'll take them. Asking
