This bass is beautiful and has a fast-playing neck. However, I have decided once and for all that I am just not into the EMG sound anymore.
The bass is in very good condition for its age--the front of the body is exceptionally clean. It does have mojo elsewhere (dings, dents, and a small "relic" spot where you'd rest your forearm/wrist), but nothing unusual for a bass of this vintage that's been played. The pics below are from the store where I bought it.
It's very light. I don't own a scale, but I am certain it's the lightest bass I've ever owned (I've owned about 25 or 30).
Electronics are EMG pickups (reverse P!), 2 volumes and a tone control. The tone pot is OK as long as you leave it wide open, but noisy and cuts volume if you dial it back. The knob on the tone pot is not original, but close enough that I didn't notice it the first couple of times I played the bass.
I paid $500 for this bass from a very reputable store in the Southwestern US. I will throw in a Free Gator hardshell case (camoflage pattern) that has never left my house and is in perfect condition. Cash price only $399 shipped!!!!
Trades: Interested primarily in P-style basses and P/
Js, fretless basses, lighter amps (GK400, various micros, etc) and lightweight cabs (especially 1x12s). but open to other possibilities. I can add some cash for the right trade.
