FS / FT: Ibanez SRP400 24 fret pbass with boost. Check it out!

SOLD

Here are some specs:

Neck: SRP4
Neck Material: Maple
Body: Ash
Frets: 24/medium
Finger Board: Rosewood
Bridge: Mono-Rail III
Pickup: Hanson P
Inlay: Pearl Dot
Color: Sunburst
Hardware Color: CH
EQ: PHAT II

The body has minor dings, with light scratches and the headstock has some major dings. Some scratches on the neck that I can see, but cannot feel and could not capture it with photos. The battery cover is inside out because some dumb kid wrote the F word on it... I covered it up with copper foil. Looks like someone tried to write a date where the neck joins the body. There is a back cover for the bridge grounds that is missing, not sure how easy it would be to get another one, but it isn't a huge deal. Trying to be very detailed and picky because that is how I roll. Overall this would be a generous 7/10, but still plays and feels great. Would probably still benefit from a setup since I am a flat newb. The neck is tiny on this thing, very similar to my Marcus Miller... It is like a Jazz meets an SR neck, so if you prefer bigger P necks, you might not enjoy this feel. If you are a fan of thin fast necks, you are in luck! Also, these mono bridges are great for anyone who likes to mute and pick at the same time, very comfortable to rest your hand on. This is probably the lightest bass I have picked up in a long time...I lack a scale but I bet it could be in the 6-7 lb range. Combined that with a 24 fret neck it is quite the unique P style bass.

The truth is I just have to accept I am a Jazz bass guy and should give up trying to like a P. I love them in the hands of others, great sound, just not my thing. I will post pictures once my camera is done charging. I also will be posting a Vintage Series SX pbass as well.

Interested trades: Jazz style basses and Laklands ( Can add cash on my end. Especially if you want both P basses.)

Here is a quick sound clip as well. The first rift is using a pick, first time without the boost, second time with about 30-50% on. Second riff is finger style. First time without the boost, second time with the boost on 30-50%. The boost isn't as noticeable while recording DI to my Mac as it is on my GB rig.

A tiny crack that looks to be from over tightening the tuner screw. Doesn't appear to be that deep or big of an issue.

Nice piece of ash!

ding!

More dings, the overlay on the headstock looks a bit cheap to me.

Close up of the date, the previous photo makes it look worse than it is.

That is what I thought! An interesting take on a classic design. It is very light, has a cool and comfy bridge, and is very open to be modded with a preamp, etc. Plus, if you happen to be a guy who likes more than 20 frets, you get that bonus as well.

I am sure someone could put it to better use than me.. or maybe a guy is sitting out there with a Jazz when he knows he needs a P style bass
