FS/FT Johnson JJ-200VS Viola [Beatle/Hofner] Bass

This is my first time selling a bass on TB, so I hope I'm sticking to all the rules.

Johnson JJ-200VS Viola Bass
Asking price $185 (PayPal preferred; buyer pays shipping).
For trades see below.

If you're GASsing for a Beatle bass, this could be the one for you. My son an I are selling this Johnson JJ-200VS Viola Bass. It has a great Hofner-like sound. Currently this bass is strung with roundwound strings. We purchased it used, but it is in excellent condition. I'd say there isn't a scratch on it, but I'm sure we would find one after I said that. It's used, but looks brand new. So let's just say Very Good + to Excellent condition. Check out the link below for about a dozen high res photos.

Notice that it has the Hofner-shaped headstock. The newer versions of this bass (which retail for $299) don't have this shape.

The flame on the maple body is really quite nice. It has 2 humbuckers, 2 volume and 1 tone, and an adjustable bridge. This one comes with a World Tour gig bag that fits it like a glove. It's short scale (30.25") so we thought it would be perfect for my son, but we found another bass that fits him like a glove.

Lots of high res photos here.

Trades

Cash offers will likely be considered before trades, but we would consider the following in trade:
  1. My son is brand new to electric bass and would probably love to play around with some effects pedals. We would accept a few basic stomp box type bass effects in trade, or perhaps a looper. Be creative and fair and we'll consider it.
  2. My daughter would love to play the Eb alto saxophone. We would consider a trade for a sax of similar quality and condition. Perhaps you have one in the closet?
I'm happy to answer questions about the bass, but all offers and trade suggestions should be sent via PM.

One last bump. It's growing on us, so if it doesn't go soon we'll probably keep it. Great sounding bass.

It's still available. We figured we'd keep it 'cause it's so cool, but the sale/trade offer stands if anyone is interested.

Price drop. One last attempt to unload this and then I think we'll keep it.

$175 including shipping to a continental US address.

Let's forget the pedal trade idea. $175 gets it to your door. I picked up a quality shipping box and it will be well packaged.

One last bump. We're about to trade this bass toward an amp for my son, so I'll let it go for $150 shipped (US lower 48 only). After that, it's gone.

I had one of these and, believe me, you should not sell it. It is worth way more than you can get, and it will look great on a wall at least. Keep it, really. I wish I had.

Yeah... we're keeping it. Not that it was getting any interest, but this thing is off the market now.
