FS/FT: Ken Smith 20th Anniversary BSR5J-X

Sign in to disble this ad
ON HOLD

Very rare and unique. 20th Anniversary BSR5J-X.

Only 11 of these were made! Completed in 1998 and this bass is totally mint and in collector's condition.

Avodire body wings with a lacewood center block. 3 piece maple and mahogany neck with grenadilla fretboard. 18mm standard Smith spacing. Very light at 8.5lbs. Well balanced..and like a Smith..plays like butter. It has a more open and organic sound than a Smith with soapbars but still definitely has the Smith undertones to it.
It comes with the original Smith hard case, paperwork, strap etc.

$2000 shipped

Trades: Here is what I may be looking for..in order of priority. Sadowsky P/J 5 Metro or NYC, Nordy VJ5, Fender Roscoe Beck V. Additional money on your side or my side accordingly. I will consider other trades but the ones above are what I am really looking to find.

That is a spectacular bass! Tell you what I'll do to help you keep it, because I know this is breaking your heart. I will buy the Sadowsky from you and you can keep this one. I know you have Smith in your DNA, so I will help you out.

Try as you may Greg. You are not getting the Koa Sadowsky.

Sounds like a great deal, but I really like my Epifani PS 1000 a lot. So, I will pass.

Man, nice BSRJ! I have to say, even though these aren't his mainstream, I far prefer them to the other models, and it sure seems like a particularly good deal on this one, too.
