FS/FT Kohlman Bassworks Kintage 4PJ P-Style 4 string bass - $375
Posting up for Chris Kohlman of Kohlman Bassworks. Contact me if interested. He builds very nice instruments.
Up for sale is one of my 4 string Kintage basses I built a while back (model 4PJ). It has a Maple neck and fretboard refinished in a vintage amber lacquer. The headstock and body have also been refinished in a matching gunmetal color. This bass comes with a Bartolini P+J pickup configuration mated to an EMG BTC setup (note: pics show concentric pots but it currently has individual pots for the BTC setup). It has traditional chrome hardware, including Schaller straplocks and a quick release bridge. Sounds great and plays very well, with low action. It is in near mint condition with the exception of a few finish flaws on the backside, which I have shown in the pics. Because these do not affect the sound, and the fact that they are on the back side, I chose not to refinish the backside just for the two minor cosmetic flaws. Otherwise, the metallic color looks awesome and comes with a hard shell case. I have been working on basses for 20+ years and do my own setups and fretwork. About two years ago I started building my own basses, some from parts that are finished by me, and others that I build including bodies made from scratch. The bass is what I call a "Reclamation Series" bass in that it has been re-purposed from other basses, had the neck pocket reworked to match up to the neck, refinished in metallic grey with clear lacquer, leveled and polished frets, and set up with low action. Also comes with a hard shell case. |
Anyway, if you are interested, let me know. I would consider trades, or partial trades as well. Some things I am looking for right now: decent small scale bass combo amps, bass pickups and preamps, or newer laptops in great condition.
