FS/FT: Lakland 44-02 Deluxe Cherryburst/Rosewood!!

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!!

I love the tone of this bass going through my MB LMT/LDS 15/6/1 rig but sometimes you just have to shake things up a bit. Wish I could afford to do so outright but cash is tight so I have to let this one go before I can bring in another (and there are a few on TB that have caught my eye!).

This 2008 Korean 44-02 Deluxe is a beaut! It has the Lakland/Hansen LH3 preamp system and pickups. The previous owner claimed it had been Plek'd at the factory but since this is Korean there is reason to dispute this claim. Whether it has been or not, it's a great player! Weighs about 9.2 lbs. and includes a Lakland Levi gigbag. I always well-pack my basses and ship fully insured.

$850 $795 shipped CONUS, Paypal gladly accepted. USA buyers only - I've shipped a bass internationally once before and have no desire to deal with customs/duties ever again!!

I'll also consider trades. As you will see, I'd like to go back to an old-school passive sound. Cash can be added (or will be expected) to balance trades when appropriate. Four-bangers only, please - I tried the fiver route and it just doesn't click for me. Also, I'm getting to be something of a geezer so I prefer my basses to be weighing no more than 9.5 lbs, thanks.

Basses I'd like to try:

G&L L1000 BABP Edition with 1.5" neck
Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn (44-64 Custom)
Lakland Skyline Hollowbody
Lakland Skyline Decade
2008+ Fender Precision Oly White Rosewood
MIJ Fender 70s Precision (+ cash)
Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz (+ cash)
Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision (+ cash) (a TWOFER of both CV Squiers would be great!)

I'd also consider a GenzBenz Streamliner 600 or 900 head or a relatively lightweight 4x10 or 3x10 cab.

More photos are available via email.

I miss my 44-02. Mine was natural with Rosewood and Barts. I like the Cherryburst. I thought I needed/wanted a Sadowsky 5, but alas, I have sold that and am thinking another 44-02 is the way to go.

I'm sure it's a beautiful bass, but I've learned that 1.75" wide necks tend to cramp my hands. Were that a Duck / 44-64 with the Jazz neck, we'd be talking!! Thanks anyway!

Tom

According to Lakland, the LH3 system can do both P *and* J (and RAY as well): YouTube LH3 Demo

IIRC I believe that only the Indonesian basses came factory plek'd.

Looks like you might be correct. It's definitely Korean, so the previous seller's claim that it had been plek'd is suspect. I'll go back through my notes to see if possibly he sent it in to Chicago to be done but I don't remember that being the case. I'll update the OP.
