I literally just received this bass in a trade today. This was my last stitch effort to try something new before giving in and going back to a 4 string passive Jazz. As much as I thought 5 string active basses were for me, turns out they aren't (unless they cost an arm and a leg).
This is a great instrument, killer all around. Because of some miscommunication on my last trade, I will try my best to go as in-depth about this bass as possible.
It is a Korean-made Lakland 55-01 with a natural Ash body and a maple neck/fretboard. The pickups were upgraded to Nordstrand Big Single (not the humcancelling model, these are true single coils.) The preamp was upgraded to a Bartolini 3 band NTMB 2.5 A/P with push/pull on the volume for active/passive and on the mid nob for freq select. It also has Jazz knobs instead of the stock metal ones, they look fantastic and really give the bass some class.
The overall cosmetic condition of the bass is very good, looks pristine. The plastic is even still on the control cavity cover. I couldn't find a dent on it, but there is the normal swirling though it is hard to see. It could use a pro setup (I don't have the cash to give it one myself). But it plays pretty well now, I just know it could use one.
For outright sale I would like $700+shipping.
It comes with a decent Ritter gig bag.
The only, and I mean only trade I will accept is a Fender American 4 string Jazz bass, in any condition.
Thanks for looking and PM me with any offers and/or questions.

Definitely worth the price, if not more! |

Sorry livinglow, I just found and snatched an AG 500 off CL for $600. I knew it could be done!

I wish I had a USA Fender for you but all I have is a MIM with USA guts. Good luck with the trade/sale.

I have been playing it a ton, and the thought of just keeping it has crossed my mind. I just know I would be more happy one a Fender J.
But this Lakie sure sounds good.

~B | Yeah, I wish I would have kept mine when I sold it. I still regret getting rid of that one.

Audre pre-amp, Hipshot D tuner, and red tort pick guard. Plus I have all the stock parts too, everything in very good shape. I'm not a 100% sure I want to let her go, but I've been GAS'in for a nice 5er.

Another reason I am selling the Lakie is I am going back to passive, no preamp for me.
Thanks anyway!

Sorry!
