FS/FT: Lakland 55-02 DLX - amazing condition!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

Up for sale/trade is my Lakland 55-02 deluxe.

It has already become cliche to say it in a for sale thread, but I really mean it when I say this bass is awesome. I'm probably gonna kick myself for moving it, but I've been yearning for a Modulus Quantum 5 for about 2 years now and I just have to scratch that itch. As it were, something has to go in order for me to bring something else in.

Condition:
This bass is in FANTASTIC condition. I'd say mint if it weren't for the most tiny of tiny nicks on the headstock. I tried to photograph it but it really is too small to photograph. I'd rate this bass at 9.5/10.

Ergonomics/Feel:
To say the least, it rivals all major US manufacturers and even gives some boutique builders a run for their money. The bass just feels great. The neck is incredibly smooth and comfortable, and the action is very fast. I haven't noticed any dead spots on it, and there is zero buzz unless you dig in really hard.

Tone:
This bass is incredibly versatile and is able to mimic the tones of 60's J basses, 70's J basses, and MusicMans very well. It's also able to get a passable P tone when you solo the neck pup. It can go from aggressive to smooth, from dubby to throaty, from hard rock to jazz, and just about everything in between. The configuration is the LH3 preamp and Bartolini pups.

Pictures:

Price:
Asking $950. ConUS only, please. Add $15 for anyone west of the Mississippi.

Trades:
Only trades I'd consider would be for a Modulus Q5 + money towards you, and maybe a Warwick SSII 5 + money towards you. That's it!

Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have!

Thanks!

**EDIT** Hey guys, I need to add that I won't be able to ship til this Saturday, but after then I can ship whenever. Thanks!

Just when I thought the GAS couldn't get any worse.

Nice bass, and a good price. This shouldn't last long.

Both!

I have a gig bag that it'll come in, as well as a rolling hardshell case. The hardshell is large enough to fit the bass and gig bag inside of it, so I'll place the bass, inside the gig bag, inside the hardshell with bubble wrap to keep it snug. Then I'll put that hardshell in a box (with more bubble wrap) to ship it in. Needless to say, it'll be safe during transport

Of course, this case wouldn't be that useful for gigging with, but it'll keep it safe if you're ever traveling out of town or if you're in need of shipping it any great distance. I've also found that this bass does fit inside newer MusicMan cases fairly well.

I don't have an exact weight as I don't have a scale on hand, but it's definitely on the lighter end of the scale for a 5 string. I'd estimate it's around 9.5-10lbs, with 10 being the absolute max. It definitely weighs less than the StingRay5 I owned, which weighed in at 10.2lbs.

Thanks!

The bass is back up for grabs!

The potential buyer is having issues with his tax return, and while I want to wait for him I'd also love to get the money ASAP so I can pick up another bass that's currently in the classifieds.

$950 gets it! Add $15 for anyone west of the Mississippi.
