FS/FT: Lakland 55-94 Deluxe

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everybody-

SOLD!

For sale or trade is my Lakland 55-94 Deluxe.

The bass was built in 2002 (s/n 6426-see http://www.lakland.com/tech-docs/serial-numbers.pdf) and I purchased it used in 2005 from Bass Club Chicago. Its got an Ash body, striking East Indian Rosewood fingerboard, rare Tiger Maple top, gold hardware, Bartolini MM-J pickups and Bartolini preamp. This bass is perfectly balanced and weighs in at slightly over 8lbs. It's got a huge sound, great tonal flexibility (Fender Jazz and Precision/Music Man Stingray sound), and is in near perfect condition (some belt buckle rash on the back and a couple of nicks near the tuning pegs too small clearly capture in the photo below.) I've meticulously cared for this bass and everything works perfectly. I'm only selling because it is not seeing any play time these days.

Price is $1800 shipped CONUS. Paypal only.

Bass will ship in an SKB case and will be packed with great care. Only trades I would consider (plus cash depending on the trade) would be for a 5 string Sadowsky (NYC or Metro/Vintage or Modern) or an MTD 535 or 635.

55-94 specs from Lakland can be found at http://www.lakland.com/55-94.htm. Thanks for looking!

The 55-94 is made in the US. The 55-02 is the Korean/Indonesian-made version.

ETA: The cherryburst finish on these is beautiful in person, and a Lakland with gold hardware is extremely rare!

For what it's worth, you'll probably never see a Lakland Shoreline here. If you did, I'm sure the seller will make it clear that it's a Shoreline, as they're pretty rare in the US. Safe to assume that any 55-94's here are US.

Thanks, BIGREDSIX.

And thanks for everybody's interest-all PMs replied to at this point.

Not clear on the confusion here regarding the instrument's production location. The bass is not a Shoreline. To my knowledge, Lakland's 55-94 deluxe basses are manufactured in Chicago IL, USA. Serial number places it from 2002. BIGREDSIX has indicated that he is the original owner and can correct me if wrong. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful Lakland. There just aren't enough flame finishes in the world.

You are correct, that lovely bass was crafted in Chicago, IL.
