It went from me to zachbass, who took it to his luthier for setup and discovered the original neck had a split in it near the headstock. This apparently was an issue with some Lakland basses that had too much wood removed at the transition from back of the neck to the headstock: they would split under trussrod pressure.
I never noticed this in the several years I had it....
Lakland customer service stood behind the issue. The bass was sent to Lakland, and a new neck installed and plek'd. Lakland customer service is awesome!
