FS/FT Lakland Skyline Scheff Shoreline Gold

I just got this from a fellow 'Pitter about a month ago. The bass is only a few months old and as far as I can tell it is in perfect condition. It came to me with the plastic film still on the pickups. The bass has the black Lakland knobs currently installed that Dan Lakin sent over. I have the factory chrome knobs too. It is currently strung with a set of TI Jazz Flats. As much as I like this bass and the Bongo Stealth I sold to get this one, I keep coming back to G&L's so I would prefer to trade this away for a G&L with preference given to L1000's and SB1's but feel free to run others by me. About the only thing I definitely don't want is anything with a jazz type neck I like the wider 15/8 and 13/4 necks. Of course a cash deal would be cool to so I can use the cash to buy another G&L.

Forgot to mention that it comes with a Lakland factory hardcase that the USA Laklands ship in also.

Well I paid 945 shipped a month ago which is about 300 bucks less than new with hardcase. I would to get near that. I probably won't go much less than 850 or so but you never know. This bass is in better condition than just about any you can find at a regular store. There was never a million hands on it. It was ordered from the lakland factory and has seen very little playing time. My plan was to run the TI flats and keep rounds on my G&L's but I decided to just get another G&L and run some flats over those MFD's.

These are killer basses! Just played my Shoreline Gold Scheff tonight, and loved it! I think that this is a limited color, too. And, the Skyline Scheffs are not made in huge numbers. Somebody grab this!

Here is a quote from Steve's own site.

"This bass retails out at $1,599 without a case and my price is $1,100 including gig bag plus shipping."

Mine is like new and flawless. Ships with the Lakland USA Hardcase NOT the gigbag AND shipping is included.Oh yeah the TI Jazz Flats were 30 some bucks too.

The hardcase will cost about 100 bucks and shipping, I dunno, maybe 30 bucks. So when you add this to the cost of the bass your looking at about 1,230 bucks instead of 800 or so. Pretty good discount i thought. As far as the silver one on Ebay I saw it but can't remeber the details about shipping, case, condition etc. if it was all that mine is all I can say somebody got a great deal. All I really want to do is turn this into a nice G&L

Dude,
Read the forum rules . This guy can ask whatever he wants. What Steve charges for this bass or a recent ebay auction end price are irrelevant. Your post is not cool IMO and you really should edit or delete it.

From the GFS FAQ:
" Sellers are entitled to ask any price they want for their item. Please do not contact a seller regarding their prices unless you’re interested in purchasing the item. Also, do NOT question a seller's price in a For Sale thread. Making offers is OK, but thread interference will not be tolerated."

Jeff

As a regular seller on this site, I am sensitive to the issue of nuissance posts, so I removed mine. Fair enough.

My issue was/is not with the item sold, but the veracity of the assertion of what the item costs new in the marketplace--which is public information and fair game, IMHO, for fact checking.

RE: Dr. PhunkyPants Comments

For the record I just wanted to say two things,

1)The bass is still available, make me offers. I won't be offended, all I can say is no thanks .

2) For what it's worth, I took no offense at the good doctor's comments. I have talked to the Phunky Little Rodent numerous times about gear and he has always been a straight up, fair and all around cool dude. No harm No foul.
