GONE - LOCAL TRADE
Ok, guys I said once that I'd never part with this bass, but we all know how that goes...
This is Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn (55-64) 5-string in Lake Placid Blue.
The little specks near the tuning key were just pieces of dust. I didn't even see it till I put the photo up, I went and checked and they just wiped right off - lol.
There is a little discoloration area on the back of the neck around the 1st fret. Not sure what it is - was that way when I got it. You can't feel it at all but for some reason the wood is slightly darker there. You will also notice a few small scratches between the 1st and 3rd frets. They are so small that I am unable to see them unless I'm out in the sun, and even then I have to run my finger over them several times to actually feel it.
Here is a pic of the largest scratch. It isn't very deep and I can't feel it at all while playing (and I'm usually very sensitive to those types of things)
There is a small crack in the finish where the neck meets the body on the underside of the bass. These are fairly common - a lot of basses get these at some point. I've never actually noticed it till I started photographing today.
Tried to get a 2nd picture of the crack, but it's very hard to photograph.
There is also a small scuff mark on the very end of the headstock. I tried to capture it as best as I could in this photo:
I purchased this a few years ago from Brian at The Low End bass shop in Murfreesboro, TN. I'm one of those guys that plays at home more than gigging so it is still in very good condition.
Here's the Details: - JRetro 01 Preamp - offers very flexible tone modeling with bass boost, treble boost and cut, push/pull bright knob, midrange with variable sweep, active/passive switch. This was also professionally installed by Brian. It's a $300 upgrade.
- Also will come with passive control plate, in case active is not your thing.
- Weight: 8.5 lbs before I put the JRetro in. (Not sure how much the preamp weighs but it doesn't feel any heavier)
- 19 mm String spacing at bridge
- 35" scale length
- Low Action (although I'm sure that means something different to everyone
)
I find that I prefer instruments with a 34" scale length. So, what I'm looking for...
- Carvin SB5000 (preferably maple or ebony board with the SB style headstock). Maybe the SB4000 too.
- Fender American Deluxe J or P
- Music Man basses - Sterlings, Stingrays, Bongos - are considered as well. Especially a single H Bongo.
- Maybe a Marcus Miller Jazz (but only in White or Sunburst).
- Maybe a 4 string Lakland Darryl Jones or 44-64 (the 4 string version of my bass).
If you have something else, feel free to run it by me. The worst I'll say is "No Thanks".
