This USA Joe Osborn 5 is candy apple red with an alder body and a rosewood board. The bass is less than a year old and the pickups are Lindy Fralins (the original owner bought it with Fralins instead of the Lakland pickups). The electronics are passive. The weight is a little over 9 pounds. It is currently strung up with a fairly fresh set of GHS steels. It comes with the original cream colored Lakland Hardshell Case.
It is almost in mint condition...except for a few bumps on the headstock and a small ding on the bottom side by the control plate. Both are pictured (I couldn't get a very good picture of the ding).
I bought this wonderful instrument as a compliment to my Joe Osborn 4 string. The problem is...they are too similar. I am still playing my four when I want a vintage jazz sound (that bass is going to the grave with me). I have played both large gigs PA backed gigs and small jazz gigs on this bass and I have had nothing but compliments on the sound. It sounds exactly like a 60s jazz should...with an extra string. The neck is to die for and it takes a very low setup well if that is your thing.
The pictures do not really show how much of a deep and gorgeous red this bass really is. Let me know if there are any questions you have or any additional pictures you need.
I am looking to get $2,250 shipped in the Continental US. I would trade for a high end active jazz with a maple board...Lull (+ cash), Sadowsky (+cash from me), etc.
