PRICE DROP!
This USA G&L L2000 was custom-ordered in 2006 by a TB-er. The specs at the time of ordering were solid HOG body, gun oil tint #6 maple neck, single-coil option. It came to me last spring. It was advertised to be in "excellent" condition, but after a long time trying to set it up properly, I found that it had a rather significant ramp in the original gun oil tint maple neck. I had a fret-level done on that neck, but the result wasn't doing it for me. So I found this incredible #6 fretted ebony satin finish neck for sale here in the classifieds. It has a small ding in the headstock (only blemish on the instrument, pictured below) but it plays excellent... nearly straight relief, with very low action. Personally, I prefer the look of the ebony, it has some really nice figuring that didn't photograph well, as well as the way it plays. It is currently strung with a relatively new set of DR Hi-beams.
I recently tracked a christmas song using this bass, and it sounds great. You can hear it here:
It's that time of year again: Christmas Music
Outright price is $900, shipped CONUS in OHSC.
My reason for selling is that I basically only play this bass in single coil mode. I think it sounds great, but I'd like to have a 5-string and think a Jazz bass would suit my needs perfectly. I have another G&L for that sound. As a result, in terms of trades I'm looking for 5-string modern/vintage style Jazz basses with active & passive circuits. I will add $$$ to the right trade: Mike Lull M5V with bartolini pre/Fralin or Duncan pups. I would also be very interested in a Sadowsky Metro RV5 or MV5. Perhaps a straight trade for a Lakland Skyline DJ5. I don't really like natural finishes over ash, just FYI.
Thanks for looking!
