FS/FT: MIA Jazz bass, modded...

TRADED.

Okay, here's the deal. I have a blizzard pearl Jazz bass. It was a 2007, but the neck went bad and Fender sent a replacement neck. The neck says that this is a 2009. That work was done by a professional shop, Mannella Guitars here in Pittsburgh.

After that, I decided to try my hand at some modifications. I installed a thumb rest between the pickups. That is what the single screw hole is from. The control plate was replaced with an Audere JZ-3 preamp. Then I decided to put some Nordstrand DC4 pickups in. This obviously required some routing. The neck slot was almost big enough already, so that was very non-intrusive. The bridge pickup was a bit more of an ordeal. The routing was fairly simple, but you can see a little bit of a wobble on the side closest to the player. The pickguard is also a little "off," so I will include not only a replacement in white, but a Nordstrand Jazz pickup for free.

I have already priced pickup rings from fretsonthenet.com. I will supply these to the new owner, you'll just have to wait since fretsonthenet is down until after the holidays.

Anyway, the bass sounds great and plays very well. I have gotten tons of compliments on the tone. I just happen to find that my 44-01 works better for what we're doing.

I would happily trade this bass for a 44-01, 55-01, a G&L Tribute or something else... Try me.

I would also be interested in amp heads; Aguilar AG500, Mesa, etc.

I would also sell it for $600 Paypalled and shipped.

+1 be wary of that. Even with paypal "protection", if he claims he didn't receive the item, you will get burned.

No worries, guys. I checked out the address and everything and this does seem a bit shady.

The bass is still available.

What will the pickup rings look like? I'm really intrigued by this I just got a 44-01 and I like it but I may have to offer it up for this.

I have no way to record clips. I will say that the sound is bigger and more clear, if that makes sense.

The pickup rings haven't been ordered, so they can be whatever you wish. I was going to go with polished aluminum. They would be made of this material, just cut to fit these pickups and without the mounting screw holes since the pickups are mounted on the body:
