FS/FT: Mint 2008 Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn - PLEK'D, HSC, CAR

SOLD. Will trade for mic pre(s). I play shows in Seattle and can deliver for free.

I just got this bass as part of a trade. I love it, but I really need mic pres more than basses. I'm hoping to get rid of it before I get too attached.

-Mint
-Lakland hard shell case
-PLEK'd
-Brand new nickel strings
-Comes with hex wrenches and PLEK certificate
-Lakland/Hanson pickup

A great sounding, ergonomic p-bass with a fast jazz neck - What's not to like? The mint/plek'd/HSC combo is hard to find as well!

"I have the same bass with a black pickguard" bump.
Love this bass as it became my gigging bass instantly over basses 2 and 3 times the price.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I'll check into it.

I'd guess it is around 9 lbs, maybe a bit less. I'll have to track down a scale.

OK- this might seem like a silly question, but what is a "mic pre?" Didn't find out by checking the FAQs, etc.

What's the easiest way to find out whether it is a Fralin or Lakland/Hanson? From what I've read, it seems like the pickups are very similar in sound.

I just asked this question regarding a Glaub I got from a TBer over at the LoG.

If the pickup wire is cloth covered it's a Fralin.

No cloth - so it is a Lakland/Hanson pickup.

Still a great bass though I would have bought it myself, and was looking at the same one a few weeks ago. But I got a Decade instead and I don't like having two basses with the same neck.

The reviews made it seem like one of those arguments that audiophiles get into over things like the minute tonal properties of wood knobs vs. aluminum knobs on stereos.

I just played a sound check with this bass and it sounded amazing, even though I was going direct!

Well I just got my Glaub with Fralins and it's the best sounding P that I've had, and that's after playing Aero, Fender and Nordstrand, all on Alder/Rosewood basses. Granted this bass is ash/maple but I don't think that matters as much.

But that's another thread
