Hi folks,
Here is my latest tinker toy project. It is an Ibanez RD500. I am not sure the age. I know its made in korea. It has a one piece maple neck, rosewood board 24 fret, basswood body with quilt maple veneer (sorry folks, they couldn't splurge on the 1/4 inch top). The pickups are duncan designed. All in all, it is a really nicely built axe. 9.5 out of 10
Now for the modification. I gutted the preamp and replaced it with one of Brian Barrett's LEJ preamps that I had extra. It is wired vol-vol-tone-treb/bass stack. Both vol's are push pull 500k pots. The first push pull is an active passive switch. The second places the MM bucker in series/parallell mode.
This bass sounds massive. It is more versatile with the LEJ preamp and sounds very pure. Of course, I will give you the old preamp upon request.
$300 O.B.O. to your door via USPS only (I am stationed in germany, APO's use USPS). As for trades, surprise me. I am not too keen on the SX'x or the brice's. I doo like carvins.
