Since I haven't been playing it much I'm putting up my Modulus BassStar necked Jazz for sale or trade. This bass has been on a ton of records since I bought it in an Austin pawnshop in about '86. It has old active EMG pups & preamp & a Badass bridge. The very best thing about this bass is the fact that every note on the neck sounds even w/no wolf or dead notes. It's a dream to play & you won't find a better sounding 4 string to record with. $1200 or trade for a 5 string. |

Nevertheless, that bass & I have been down the road quite a bit & I feel like letting someone else discover it. Hopefully I will discover something new as well. |

Seems like you had no problem. Does your neck have a truss rod??
PS. Good luck with the sale. |

I've owned this bass since the late 80s & at one point I noticed the neck had bowed (no kidding). I took it to my tech & he called Modulus. They said to send it in. They took off the frets & fingerboard, planed it flat & replaced both the fingerboard & frets w/new ones at no charge. Now the neck is actually thinner than stock . It's also pristine because I have not used it much since that time except for studio work. It's one of the best recording 4 strings you'll find. I probably should just hang on to it, but I only use it occasionally. I've come to like the feel of wood. |

So it's strung w/ Sadowsky flats & is a great bass for fingerstyle.....which is all I play. The tone is clear & fat. Massive in fact. I used to have rounds on it & it sounds really great for that too, but reggae & country are what I play most so it's set up for that now. |
