FS/FT Modulus Genesis 5 SOLD

SOLDAs some of you know, I retired Nov 2010, and am down from 2 gigging bands to 1 practicing band. I no longer need 10 basses, 3 rigs, etc.

Next on the block is my Metallic Plum Genesis 5. It is a 1999, I've had it since appx. 2001, and it has survived a bass merry-go-round of 35 basses, primarily because it sounds good in any setting, and is impervious to Rocky Mountain outdoor gig extreme temperature changes. It has deep lows and glassy highs and weighs in at 9.7 lbs.

The bass is in good shape, especially for a 12 old bass that has been played (no closet queen here). It has a chip in the clear finish at the tip of the head stock, the typical Genesis finish cracks at the neckpocket (not into the wood), and in the case of this one, about 16 very small chips in the paint averaging the size of the head of a pin. I don't know how they got there, they were there when I got it from lamarjones, but they also don't go into the wood. I'm guessing the body either wasn't properly cleaned before painting, or they are the result of air pockets. I thought about getting touchup paint but never got around to it.

TRADES? G&Ls, Stingrays, 4 or 5s, but nothing over 9 lbs (you youngsters can handle it, but my old shoulder can't) or skinny (Jazz sized) necks. These are about the only really good basses I've never tried.

Holy ****! The price is unbeatable... if this doesn't sell by tomorrow (when my paycheck arrives), I'll PM you.

This is one of those deals, though, that won't last!

Yeah, I never look to make $ on my bass transactions, if I can break even it's cool. Talkbass is a community, right?

To answer questions: The neck has a graphite spine/headstock, it is then sandwiched with Chechen (red cedar) for tone. The fretboard is Grenadillo, and the body is Soma.

If I had my summer school money already, this would have been paid for pronto!

This has got to go down as one of the all-time great TB Classifieds deals!

SOLD

Sorry MLP1, you missed this by minutes.

On the other hand, I look forward to hearing it on CD and seeing it on YouTube someday - she's Chicago bound.

SOLD
