FS/FT MTD 535 - Ash body, Burl maple top, Maple neck, rosewood board - $2600

Hey guys...

I've lusted after an MTD ever since Vic put one in my hands about 6 years ago, and this one is as close to my sound as I'm ever going to come in an MTD, but after playing it several times at church, a couple of times at rehearsal and a few recording dates with it, I'm finding that the MTD tone just isn't for me right now.

This bass is not pristine. It has been played and it shows. The worst of the wear is the shiny spot under the G string from slapping, a ding with some missing wood on the headstock, some wear on the pickup covers and a small worm in the back of the neck. None of these things have ever bothered me, but since they were NOT disclosed to me when I bought the instrument, I want to make sure the next owner knows about them before hand.

I'm looking to trade this for something like a Sadowsky, Nordstrand, STR, Modulus etc. 5 strings is preferred, but I play 4's too. Please, no amps or cabs unless you have a Trace V8 you're trying to off.

Feel free to toss trade offers my way. Worst I can say is, "No thank you"

This has to be, what, the seventh MTD I've seen for sale/trade on this forum in the past few days! Weird. Anyway, kudos to you for being more up-front than the guy you bought the bass from. Best of luck getting something you'll be happier with!

I just went through that here too. Got a bass not as described, didn't have a truss rod when the ad said it did. I turned around and sold if for a loss with an accurate description. You can't go wrong doing the right thing.. Good luck with the trade.
