Once again I am offering up my MTD Kingston Heir 5 fretless bass. I bought this in '06 from Bass Central and am the original owner. It has never seen a gig. This bass is in excellent condition - no dings, dents scratches on the body, neck, or headstock. The fingerboard is in wonderful shape - the ebonol holds up great even with roundwounds on it. In fact, the only visible marks on this bass are on the cavity covers, which are no problem, because I have brand new replacements direct from the distributor. Here are the goods:
2005 MTD Kingston Heir 5 Lined Fretless
35" scale - 19mm spacing
1-3/4" wide at the nut
Buzz Feiten tuning
Ash body - Flame maple top
Maple Neck
Lined ebonol fingerboard
Stock MM/J configuration with stock preamp
9.8 lbs
This is about as good as you can get for an entry level fretless. Use the J pickup for a nice mellow tone or dial up the MM and make it mwah-licious. Also a great bass for tinkering and upgrades, if that's what suits you - there's been plenty who've put Barts/Nordys in these and rock out.
I have installed Schaller strap locks. I have also upgraded the original black hardware with the smoked chrome that comes on the brand new models, with the new bridge for easy string changes. All the original hardware comes with it (tuners, knobs, bridge, straplocks) - no new holes were made with the new hardware. I am also including the case in the pictures. It's a little on the beat up side, but it does the job of holding a bass.
I am asking
$600 shipped in the CONUS only - don't ask for international shipping, won't happen. Paypal would be best. Local deal in S. New Hampshire/N. Mass would be wonderful.
Shoot me some trade offers. I am willing to add a couple hundred bucks to the right deal - ideally, I'm looking to buy a new bass I see up here. 5 strings, fretted only. Would love a G&L USA L-2500. Not a fan of Warwicks or 'mojo'. Thanks!
