Talking FS/FT: Near-Mint Musicman Stingray w/ OHSC

Picked this up last week. It is gorgeous. It plays great. It's as close to mint as I've ever seen in a used bass. Tone is mind-blowing.

It's even my favorite color combo.

I've found once again, though, that I prefer passive basses. I keep reaching for my Fender jazz.

I don't need 2 high-dollar basses, and I need to finance some kind of amp setup. So let's move this. $925 $880 OBO shipped and insured.

Pics below are from the original ad, I'm planing on doing my own shoot ASAP. It'll ship with the white pickguard as seen in the first pic.

ya got that right

I'm gonna play it this week, put the jazz down, see if I fall in love with the ray after all. It is a very different beast from the Fender.

In the meantime feel free to make an offer

i started on jazz. then played a sub sterling for the longest time. it cut through the mix better than anything. now i play mostly p-basses which sit further back in the mix (like a jazz) but i still love that stingray growl.

yeah, no need to use your imagination or stretch your ears: it flat out growls

I may be clinging to my passive jazz a little just out of familiarity. I'm gonna practice with the ray this week and settle into it a bit. I'm gonna play with some friends this weekend and I'll see how it does in the mix. I have a feeling it's gonna kill.

Maybe my jazz will be out here next week...we'll see
