Thumbs up FS Fender Jazz w/CYR neck *LOOK* PRICE DROP!

SOLD!

Ok, here’s another parts build I just finished today. Consists of a Fender Squire Vintage Jazz series body and a very nice, straight CYR neck.

The body is made of 2-piece Alder. Nice thick, Vintage clear finish. I added a set of standard Fender knobs and replaced the bridge with a black Gotoh. (couldn’t find any black screws).

The neck is from a CYR custom J-series bass. Made in USA. Nut width is 1-11/16”. Heel is 2-7/16. Neck pocket is 2-½ so there is a very small gap. Can barely see it.
I wanted to use my 70’s Jazz neck, but the heel “thickness” is 7/8” (old school), and not 1” like needed and I didn’t want to use my last few maple shims. The action is quite low, I can set-up a bass, no problem. No bad frets, all even and smooth as a baby’s butt! I’m sure the nut is not plastic, maybe Graphite or graph-tech. When filed, I had no plastic shavings, just fine slippery dust.

Pickups are Seymour Duncan designed for Fender. They sound pretty damn good! Especially once I set the correct pup height. Very Jazzy and Honky. Especially with the bridge pup solo-ed.

EDIT: Played it at rehearsal tonight. It's a very sweet player. Lows are deep as the ocean, mids bark and bite like some high-end necks I've had the pleasure to play, and the highs are sweet and smooth. Neck is fast and easy to play, again, like some of my favorite boutique basses. I guarantee the bass to play, bark and bite as good as almost any American Fender I've touched. If I were to change anything, it would be the pickups and a possible pre to bring this thing to it's fullest potential.

Electronics are all cloth wired with grounding strips under each pup along with fully shielded rout areas. Small pots, which I’d like to change to CTS 250’s if I keep her. Standard V-V-T.

I used Grover tuning keys along with an extended height string tree. Currently strung with XL-170 Nickel wound.

All parts are brand new and a quality build.

PRICE DROP TO $400 PLUS SHIPPING.

Thanks for looking…

Sure. In original thread: Trade offers welcome. Alone or I’d love to trade this with my Warwick Taranis, for a sweet Spector JH5 or Warwick FNA Jazzman. No big bodied basses plz.
I have about $400 invested, not including build time. Sell for cash offers also. Don't lowball me plz.(not you Zack!)

Just want to comment on the CYR necks. Steve is a great builder, and I would recommend his work to anyone. His necks are every bit as good as the big boys. Good luck on the sell.

I believe the TB rules prohibit auctions and require a specific sales price unless it's for trade only.

This is not an auction. I'll take $500 OBO. It's worth it, really. Think I might replace the pots with CTS 250's and the pups with Fender vintage. I have those here and would do it for the sale.
