These two
threads give high-res shots and more detail. The photos in this thread are current shots as of this posting, she's been played a lot but pampered - a year's more player wear and a tiny mark on the finish under the bridge from a string change but aside from that is still in close to "like new" condition.
Lovely grain under a beautiful 3-tone sunburst; blocks and binding for a "top-notch modern luthiery meets vintage" vibe. The passive tone of the bass has tons of bite and spank with a good fat heft in the lower mids. It's a stellar bass which has absolutely *zero* flaws - she simply hasn't found her "forever" owner yet.

***I've had luthier Paul Iverson add the Nordstrand 3B-4b preamp (2 pickup - 4 Knob) and a (single) battery box as FreddyG had suggested. This was indeed a wicked addition. I also had him add the Bassmute seen in the pic below
http://www.bassmute.com/ but I will remove the BassMute (mounted with double-sided tape) before sale.
$2250 shipped.
It was bought to nail a very specific gig which has since come to an end, but came very close to nailing it for me as a keeper anyway - a killer sounding "modern take on 70s J-bass", drop-dead gorgeous on camera as a "stealth modern".
TRADES:
I wouldn't be letting this bass go if I weren't looking for something extremely specific in a bass. So my preference is a cash sale to fund that search - but the right Sadowsky with most or all of the following characteristics could tempt me:
- NYC (I'd add cash) or a *lightweight* metro (with cash from you)
- P/J or J (but a J-style body rather than P)
- alder/rosewood
- universal rout
- 5 string
- lightweight (the further under 9 lb the better)
I'm looking for a player's bass rather than a museum piece so a certain amount of normal player wear doesn't bother me.
Let me know if you have a Sadowsky that hits a significant number of those specs.
