SOLD!!
My Millennium 5 and Cirrus 6 have put my Cirrus 5 on the bench. Since natural colored basses don't really flip my switch anyway, I think it's time to let her go to a new home. So...
This is a Made in USA Peavey Cirrus 5. Flame maple top on alder body. Pau Ferro fretted fretboard. I bought it brand new at a local shop one year ago this week. The sticker on the back of the control cavity cover says it was manufactured in 2008. It still has the original strings and has been played very little, really. I have too many basses (which is another reason why I should move this one out)!
It came with the regular Cirrus preamp. I had it upgraded to the Custom Shop (aka Millennium) preamp and new Peavey knobs to match by RPJ GuitarWorks here in Tallahassee. The same guy also did the same upgrade to my G-Bass, G-V, and Cirrus 6. This means that, unlike regular Cirrus which just have a mid boost/cut knob, this one has a stacked pot for the mids. The top knob controls mid boost/cut and the bottom knob controls the center frequency of the midrange boost/cut. I believe it ranges from 200Hz to 2000Hz. It sounds AWESOME. The action is setup nice and low and plays very nicely. I think the only bass I have that I would say plays more nicely is my Peavey B Quad 4.
It will ship in the original hardshell case, with all the original paperwork, tools, etc, that came with it.
My digital bathroom scale says 9.8#. And, FWIW, when I weigh packaged basses on that scale and them take them down to FedEx, their scale generally reads a little lighter than mine (maybe a pound lighter on a 30'ish pound box).
The bass is still in like new condition. It has only ever been played in my house and the house of another TB'er and friend of mine. The lining of the case does have a small rip in it, where the tip of the lower bout touches it (about the size of the tip of the horn, if you can imagine that!).
If you want a Cirrus 5 string, you won't find one better than this!
I think it's worth $1050, paid by Paypal, shipped by insured FedEx Ground to a CONUS address. Or shipped internationally if the buyer pays extra to cover the additional shipping.
Trade interests are:
Fender American Jazz 5 (Std or Dlx)
Stingray5 w/HS pickups
Any trade would have to be for a 5-string, with a maple or ebony fretboard and in a color I like (which means no blue, orange, green, white, yellow, blonde, 3TSB, or natural - I like red, black and combinations thereof not that I'm picky or anything LOL!)
Enough talk. How about some pictures?
Lots of them here: Peavey Cirrus 5 pictures by stuartv - Photobucket

I thought this was your baby? It's got the BEST wood combo. I think Jack just got a 4 banger with the same woods... Awesome bass. (I Still love my Milli's!)
Someone should snatch this up before Stuart comes to his senses!

Someone should snatch this up before Stuart comes to his senses! | Jack will SOON (when his paypal check clears from another guy) pickup MY 4 banger like this, only it has a maple fb, too ! It's the M3, as we call it (maple x 3)
Stuart ??? Are you ok ??? At least I still have a few Cirri, so I can sell one or two.
Fender ?? Stingray ?? It's like going from a luxury car to a Pinto.
I KNOW XHAWK5 will agree with me.
- Just think - for every time we make fun of you we are actually BUMPING you ! It's all out of love !

I know, I know. Trade a Peavey for a Fender or a StingRay?? Well, if I didn't have my Millennium 5 string and my Ruby Red/Maple Cirrus 6, I would not be wanting to let this one go. But, my Millennium really has taken over as my favorite. And if I ever want that Cirrus sound, I can't see myself picking up the Cirrus 5 over the Cirrus 6 (just 'cause I like the color better on the 6). So, I just don't see this Cirrus 5 doing anything but sitting in its case at my house. And it's just too nice to do that.
Plus, I have a B Quad 5 which is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Woohooo!!! With that, the Mill5 and the Cirrus 6, I *really* don't see the Cirrus 5 getting any play time. So, it should go to a home where it can do what it was made to do. Rock somebody's face off!!!
Believe me, I won't be upset if she ends up just staying at my house....
As for a Fender or StingRay, those are just two that I haven't really tried and would like to. I don't often hear a Jazz in a mix that I really think sounds great, so if I get one it probably wouldn't stay long. And I suspect that a StingRay5 with HS pickups would prove to be so much like my Mill 5 with J/MM pickups that it wouldn't stay long either. But, still, I'd like to try them if I run across the right one of either.

I will go ahead and let you know though, the stingray will sound nothing like your Mill5. Nothing. A stingray is way more bright and aggressive compared to the Mill5's dark tone.

Anyway, I'm not really holding out much hope that somebody is going to have just the right SR5 and want to trade me.

I think he may have sold it since, then, though. The body was black pearl and the fretboard had THE most killer grain pattern pau ferro I've ever seen. And it was in literally like new condition.
And, yes, I am up to my neck in Peaveys.
B Quad 4
B Quad 5 (tomorrow)
G-Bass
G-V
Cirrus 5
Cirrus 6
Millennium 5 Plus
After the BQ5 arrives, I'll have to do another Peavey family portrait like I did one time before - before any of them go away.

Cool that he has both. They were sweet. But I wanted the drop tuner and flamed maple top. Found "MY" tone, along with the BAM you sold me, upgraded w/Eminence Legends,(put the Blue marvels in my 210TVX). Every time I try to buy a Fender or another bass, I back out at the last minute. I figure, whats the sense? Plus my wife knows my tone also and she wont let me waste the money. She knows I'll just sell it. Lol. GL with the sale Stu, (you got paypal coming soon, btw)... Larry

This bass is on absolute top of my wishlist for now. And i would be very happy to buy it from you. I have a partner in states/ He will contact you and will take care of delivery. This price is very good for this beauty, i know? but there is problem with the case. The additional delivery cost for case kills my possibility to buy this marvelous instrument. Whould you be so kind to show such unheard charity to sell me only the guitar without the case for 1000 $? In return if you happen to be in moscow you would be always welcome in my home and drink vodka to the stupor)) |

| | Must. Stop. Buying. Basses. Errrrkkkk!!!! | | Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Roseville, CA | | | USPS Express Mail Internation to Belgium looks like roughly $175. That's including the maximum amount of insurance, which is only $650.
I was allowing roughly $35 in the price for shipping, so let's call it $1190, shipped to Belgium, in the OHSC, via United States Postal Service.
But, note, I will not take responsibilty for the additional value above what the insurance covers. If you buy it, I ship it, and it gets lost or smashed, I will file the claim and get you the $650. But, that's all you would get. The extra money you spent would be 100% your risk.
If you want me to get a quote from FedEx (they probably offer a higher insurance limit), give me a city and postal code for the destination in Belgium. USPS will calculate shipping with just the country name, but FedEx needs the extra info.
