SOLD

I have seen a few of these here and they are exceptional instruments. I believe this is a 96, serial number is 08243213. I am just not a huge Pbass tone fan, but the action and feel are incredible. The neck is probably a hair slimmer than a jazz. I was keeping it around because a few friends wanted to some bass lessons but they have not come around, and she needs a good home. There are a few dings/chips that I have shown in the pictures. The pots and input jack were a bit scratchy so I put in a Hoagland Brothers Pbass harness (36.00 value) and she sounds great now!

Harness info:
1 - 250k CTS brand audio taper potentiometer (volume)
1 - 250k CTS brand linear taper potemtiometer (tone)
1 - .047mfd 400v Sprague "Orange Drop" capacitor
chrome Switchcraft input jack
cloth-covered, vintage-style "pushback" wire
AWG 22, PVC-coated Belden wire

I am sure if someone put some flatwounds on her you would be in P heaven. I have debated about doing that myself but I don't play out enough to justify it. I am asking for 200.00 plus shipping.

The only trade I am really looking for is a Lakland 44-02, which I know is a fat chance but I will put it out there

Let me know if you have questions!

Thanks for the nice words genstormbringer. This is really a nice bass. Incredibly low action, and a slim fast neck. Makes me wish I was a pbass guy. If this had J pickups it wouldn't be going anywhere. I have even considered routing in J pups, which I know is nuts.

Getting some interest on this one. PMs replied!

I would go crazy wit it and add the J pickups. Make it look like a stu hamm urge put both j's in it comeon give it a shot. It does have a J neck and I know the action is low. The action on my Fury is stupid low to the point of almost buzzing like 1/32". It would be comparable to the cowpokes and the urge basses and ya know what it would not even cost as much as either to do the upgrade. It would still be just as good or better than either one of those Fender basses. The config on the pickups would be crazy. You could do a blend of the bridge jazz w the p pickup or the neck j and p pickup outlandish stuff and have a KILLER sounding bass. You could just knock around this bass and really not be that concerned w dings etc... DO IT!!!

From what I understand, "Crafted in U.S.A." means that all of the parts were made here but the guitars were assembled overseas. Maybe I'm wrong but I think I remember Chip Todd telling me that.

I am not sure Scott but I would think it would be silly to make the parts here, ship them over seas, then ship them back. It would seem they would lose the savings in all the shipping. Now doing like Lakland does, have the parts made over seas and assembled here, would make more sense.

Anyone care to comment on this?

Funny, I totally thought about turning this into an Urge type bass. My only problem is I have ruined a few instruments trying to do such things. Better for me to pass them on.
