As much as I dont want to do this, I'm offering up a natural/maple T-20 that I JUST got a little over a month ago. For now, I have to abandon my dream of assembling a lineup of all 3 basses in Peavey's classic "T" series.
I NEED another 410 cab and I had 2 deals fall apart on the other bass I have listed so I figured I'd offer this one as well. once one bass sells or is traded, the other one is "off the market"
This is NOT a T-40. The T-20 came out in the early 80's and was only produced for 2 or 3 years. It featured probably the first appearance of the Super Ferrite humbucker pickup. Its placed in the P position and its angled to replicate the magnetic field of a precision pickup. The pickup surround also incorporates a built-in thumbrest.
The neck seems to be the same as the T-40 and the body shape is also comparable. However, the T-20 features some sculpting-mainly the forearm roundover we're all pretty used to.
The T-20 weighs in at ~9 lbs on my bathroom scale so its not nearly as heavy as a T-40. Its also 1 5/8" at the nut.
Between the contoured body and the lighter hardware, this bass is 2 & 3/4 pounds lighter than my T-40.
This bass sounds brighter than I would've thought. Its not as bright as a Jazz but IMHO its brighter than most other single pickup basses where the pickup is in a neck position.
There are some nicks along the side of the neck but they do not affect playability.
The case is an original molded plastic hardshell. Like a LOT of those cases, there is no interior lining. There is a foam insert under the body and another one glued into the top to rest on the strings.
This one does have a faint smell of smoke. My house is smoke-free but thats how I got it. Its not overpowering but it is present.
Asking $260 shipped or looking for a trade on a solid 410 cab.
The cab does NOT have to be pristine on the outside but everything needs to work- all the speakers and all connectors MUST be in good working order.
After the 1st of the year, I will be able to add a small amount of cash to a trade but not before then.
But hey, feel free to start shooting some offers my way now! We can always start negotiating!
IEDIT: Here are the 2 pics I have- generic shots of the fron and back of the body-taken when I first got the bass. I plan on adding a few more when I pull the bass out of its case.
As you can see- the shot of the back show the butcher block effect of the multiple pieces of hard ash that make up the body!
