SOLD
I rescued this beauty from a GC in the midwest earlier this year. The story went that it was in their "boutique" store (i.e. one of only a few in the country that stock(ed) Pedulla and certain other high end brands) for a couple years, a "new" instrument, but with a few dings and scrathes from being handled by countless people who wanted to try it but never buy it. I acted interested, they offered me a deal I couldn't refuse, and I decided to give it a good home. Touching story, no?
Pics are below (sorry my digital cam really sucks, bad resolution and time/date stamp is way off) -- There's one good chip in the paint, but it's on the back and is not visible while holding the bass in a typical rocking-out fashion. The trussrod cover is missing from the headstock, but is available from Pedulla for $35 plus frieght. I will pay for the replacement and have it drop shipped to whomever should buy or trade for the bass. The clearcoat around the bridge was raised and cracking in a few spots between the actual bridge and the bridge p/u, quite obviously the clearcoat was not completely cured before the hardware was installed. (A nice female voice that returns calls from Pedulla assured me this was an unfortunate mistake on a few basses that occured during a brief period of time in which Mr. P himself stepped away from overseeing all aspects of build. She says he's back fulltime now.) My "tech" here locally removed the bridge and did a repair with black laquer, albeit matte rather than glossy. Not the ideal fix, but a functional one that nobody has ever noticed without me pointing it out first. There's a tiny spot where the clearcoat is also starting to come up at the heel where the neck bolts on, but I left this one alone, as it's much smaller, and again not visible while rocking out.
The bass plays and sounds fantastic, with the dual Bart J's & active volume-pan-treble-bass controls. Comes with the proper Pedulla truss rod adjustment tool, will ship in a non-Pedulla HSC (GC wanted an extra 125 for the original Rapture case even though it had bum hinges so I left it there). ASKING $1350, shipped to CONUS, eCheck/M.O./cashier's check. Would prefer to sell as my new-ish bride used her special female powers to trick me into admitting this was a purchase more of want than need, so I will negotiate, but I will not hesitate to trade for the right 55-94 or a pair of Ep. UL310's (+ a bit of currency, as necessary), or a light DJ5 with Audere pre, as long as you promise not to tell said bride. SOLD

Also, thanks for the PM's, only interested in a 55-94 in trade, though. Forgot to include, the string spacing is indeed 19mm.

Bump for a great bass.

I walked into the GC in Arlington Heights, IL, saw it on the floor with a "Clearance" tag on it, got them to sell it to me for 300 UNDER cost, and walked out the door with a less than 1 year old Pedulla with no issues. Best bass I've ever owned, bar none including my Lull and particularly sweet sounding Warwick. These things are simply incredible basses. I've had a couple soundmen tell me I should never, ever sell this bass. My tech told me to let him know if I ever decide to get rid of it and he'll pay me whatever I'm asking. They're freaking sweet and 1400's a good deal on one of these. Someone should snap it up, good luck bro! |

Great neck, very thick bottom end for an active bass, just a sweet instrument. Someone will be pleasantly surprised if they haven't played one before. GL with the sale.

I played pedulla rapture a long time ago and it was/is still my dream bass. I literally felt I could play twice as fast (although I am not too fast to begin w/). And it's one of my favorite color combos too!! Just need a black or black pearloid PG. And a 5-string!!
I came very close to getting a rapture a year ago but it slipped through and I ended up getting a fender 4-string jazz. I am very happy w/ it but I would definitely get a rapture in the future.
Sadly, I won't be in a position to buy expensive basses for years to come....good luck w/ the sale! |

Not damaged, but still, sounds like these retailers are giving these things away, lol.

I was playing a Pedulla Thunderbolt 6 for several months that I bought here on Talkbass. Hindsight being 20/20, I realize that it was by far the nicest bass I've owned and one of the nicest I've ever played. Tons of punch, excellent build, and I really dig the funky-but-not-way-over-the-line look.
If I had the money, this would be my bass. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
