This is one of my favorite basses that I own, but now that I have gone the vintage route I am not giving this baby the love she deserves. As you can tell from the photos, this bass has just about every type of wood on the market. It is spotless, just as the day it left Mr. Pelosi's shop. It will also include a HSC. As far as trades, I am really only interested in Fender American Deluxe 5 Jazz/P basses and/or an Aguilar SC500 or AG500. If you have any other items, your welcome to shoot them my way but I may politely decline. My asking sales price is $1350 obo.
  • Bubinga Top and Monkey Pod Back
  • Alder Wing and Mahogony Core
  • Wenge Centerblock
  • Pelosi single coil pickups with nicaguan cocobolo covers
  • Bound Kingwood fretboard on a 7 piece Sapele, Maple and Wenge neck with turquoise markers
  • ABM bridge & Gotoh tuners

Here is some eye candy, let me know if you have any questions...

This ventures into the realm of "so pretty, I wouldn't dare play it for fear of damaging it somehow." Very cool, unique bass man!

Thanks Sky. I polished her and put her in the case after I stopped playing her and didn't take her out till the morning I took these photos. Just so different and amazing and the tone is really unique. Thanks for the kind words...

Intriguing looking bass. I'll ask my standard questions:

- Scale length?
- String spacing at nut and bridge?
- How's it balance on a strap? (I.e. will it stay where you put it if you angle up, or drift toward the horizontal?)

Also, is it a fully passive instrument or is there an active preamp?

Any tonal/playing impressions? (Since you like vintage, using a Fender as a reference point might make sense.)

It is a striking looking instrument for sure (dig the lightning bolt headstock!).

Mark,

35" Scale Length

String Spacing is 17mm bridge
String Spacing at 1 3/4 nut

Balance is perfect on this one. I have never had an issue with it, but I really only played this one at home in my studio. When I get home I will throw on a strap and dance around a bit like the punk days of the past

This bass is active and has the active preamp

Tonal quality and impressions...
I would say this is a more modern tone, it has great pop on the slap side, but the finger play on this one is very clean also. It really gives you the mids to cut the mix without compromising your good mix. I have played quite a few and I would say that this fell somewhere between my Elrick New Jazz Standard and my F Bass. Its like a modern American Fender jazz meets something a little more boutique like a Ken Smith. I hope that helps.

The head stock reminded me of a Brown and a Carl Thompson. Just a real luthiers touch on this one. I don't imagine it will last long just because it is unique and you don't see a lot of them.

Cheers!

Love my Pelosi, though I don't have the stock preamp. If it's helpful, I have the same body style and it balances just fine. No neck dive at all. Not positive, but I think mine is a 34.5" scale and 17.5 mm spacing.

If I had the cash to spare, I'd happily pick this one up to compliment mine. Got mine strung E - C, but it also sounded great with a low B. Really wish I had the $...

Good luck with the sale!

Man ... I dodged a bullet on this one.

Pelosi's are the only bass that I always dig the back more than the front ...

That's pure bass porn right here.

Thank you so much Chace, much appreciated. I have talked to a few others who have had these and had nothing but positive things to say. i love this one and if I was doing the cover band stuff and modern stuff I would still be playing and keeping this one.
