FS/FT Phillips Bulldog- Very Fodera-esque

Sign in to disble this ad
Got this bass in a trade a month or so ago....its a nice player but its just not quite right for me.... I am asking $400 shipped US 48..open to trades as well.

Pics here:
FS: RARE Phillips Bulldog 5 w/OHSC (Amber Ash)

I talked to Mr. Phillips himself, and he mentioned that he was trying to make a poor man's Fodera. I've never played a Fodera, but I can tell you this is a nice bass.

Specs from the website can be found here.

(* - from the website)

* special set neck construction for optimal tone
completely contoured/blended heel for smooth and easy access up to the 24th fret

* From swamp ash body wood.
The bass is fairly light for swamp ash.

* Scale Length: Five String Bulldog 35" scale
Very nice low B on this bass.

* 3 pc maple neck with two way truss rod and reinforcement bars.
rock solid neck, I rarely have to tune this bass.

* 24 frets
WOW!

* ABM style bridge
solid

* Active soapbar pickups with + or - 15 db bass and treble cut or boost
Very good tone.
Very flexible tone. bridge PU is burpy and tight, fat and thump neck, and combined is great too.

more specs:
The nut is 1 25/32 - 1.78125"
Looks like 16.5mm at the bridge.
the finish is "Amber Ash".

This was my old bass, and I can vouch for it's quality and tone.
It's extremely well made. the contoured neck is divine. The tone is sweet.

Brett7276 is a great guy to deal with. I'm sure anyone who buys this bass will be extremely happy with it.

Good luck on the sale.
