FS/FT Rare One off Roscoe Century Standard Plus 4

Sign in to disble this ad
Friends,

Major personal issues have surfaced and it is with great distress that I have to offer my practically new Roscoe Century Standard Plus. The Century Standards are still made in the American Roscoe factory with minor cosmetic and build changes. They still carry the Roscoe goodness. This started as a one off project (with this very bass) that has actually grown into a limited offering from the Roscoe factory. These basses are now called Century Standard Plus .

This one has a few special touches not found on the current Plus models.

1.Slanted pickups - not currently offered...if so an upgrade charge.

2.Ash laminate between the koa top and ash back - not offered.

The top is quilted Koa and beautiful. The bass has been finished in oil. The body is ash with some beautiful mineral streaks. She weighs right around 8lbs +/- The neck is a 3 piece maple with Pau Ferro fretboard. The Pau Ferro is also beautiful with a few nice mineral streaks.

There are no issues to document. Very straight fretboard with excellent fretwork. Truss rod functions 100% Nice low action . There is some VERY minor string rub marks on the E side of the pickup covers.Brand new set of Dunlop steels installed. Bass ships with a Roscoe padded gigbag.

The bass is all but brand new..purchased in Nov 2009. I paid $2300.

Looking for $1900obo shipped and insured.

As far as trades...looking for trades + cash...4 string fretted preferred but open to offers.

I am away from my home and camera at the moment. The pics are from the shop in which I purchased it. I can take updated photos in the coming days.

Thanks and God bless

Oh my... I wish soooo badly that I could take this off of your hands.
The biggest regret I have about selling a piece of gear was selling my LG3000. Don't think i'll ever fully recover from that.

Good luck with the sale.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. I had to sell a Roscoe for family reasons last summer, so I know what you are going through, and my prayers are with you.

Too bad you didn't need to post this three or four days earlier when I had the cash in hand.

Best of luck with selling the bass and with resolving the issues.

Justin

..& let me say, lightgroove has exquisite taste in instruments, and he knows his Roscoes..

It's very likely a 34" unless that's part of the "one off-ness" of this bass. Roscoe uses 34" for 4 bangers, 35" for those basses with a "B" string.

I'll be bumping this one all the way to the eventual sale.

Here I am.. recording with the Roscoe LG-3000 that lightgroove sold me recently...do I look like I'm enjoying it??

and bear in mind,
this is the FIRST one he wanted to get rid of,
the koa Century was the one he chose to keep,of the two.
I can not tell you how perfect this instrument is to me..
These are some of the richest, classiest sounding basses around, and they set up reaallly low,and still sustain like crazy.

I was able to concentrate on playing a perfect, soulful track, because my gear performed perfectly.I'm SO glad I had my Roscoe in time for this session. If u are thinking about your 1st Roscoe, be like Nike.. & just Do It.

oh yeah..bump!
