This is a bass I bought from a fellow TB'er a few months back. It's Roscoe's top line offering - a Century Signature.
Beautiful looking and playing - if you covet the 35" scale in order to have a strong 'B', but you have trouble with 35's - you may find this a bit easier to play, due to the extended top horn. It is the easiest 35" I've played, and I have small hands / short fingers.
If I've learned nothing else from having this bass, it is to make sure any 35" that I purchase has an extended top horn (brings the top of the neck closer to the player).
Wanting wider string spacing? This one has it - full 19mm (3/4"), just like it's 4-string brothers. Less adjustment when going back and forth between 4- and 5-string basses, and that's one reason I always go for 19mm spacing.
Like other Roscoes, it has the cutaways behind the fingerboard (above and below) to facilitate slap, if you favor that style of play. They don't show well in the pics, but they're there.
Apologies for the pics, btw - taken with a camera phone. Better quality ones available, if desired.
Reason for sale: Culling the herd a bit, and another is on the way. Want to put this in the hands of someone who will play, enjoy, and get everything out of this bass that it has to offer.
Condition: I'd call it 9/10, just because I don't call any used bass 10/10. Same as I got it from previous seller, and he took care of it well - I could not find any nicks, scratches, etc., anywhere.

Sale Pricing: $2200 USD shipped / insured, Paypal preferred, CONUS ONLY.
New, this bass would cost over double that amount (not counting Roscoe's recent price increase!), and I'm just recouping my expense in acquiring it. You'd also have a several month wait to have it built. I'll have it in your hands in a matter of days. Local to northern IL / SE WI ? $100 off for local pickup; I'll spend that much to ship it.
Trades I'm looking for (very specific, so please don't offer anything besides these items). Trade value: $2800.
- USA Smith 5-strings (plus $ from me)
- USA Sadowsky 5-strings (plus $ from me)
- Elrick 5-strings ($ plus or minus)
- Fender MIA Jazz, 4-string, 3 color sunburst, in a '60's configuration (I'm thinking reissue, not an actual '62), with $ from you. Sorry to be a snob, but MIA only
, in a '60's configuration - I need this for a tribute band I'm in.
If you've made it to this end of the post, I thank you for taking the time to read it!
