FS/FT Roscoe Century Standard Plus 4 Moa Koa

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey folks,

I'll start by saying this is my 4th Roscoe and without a doubt my favorite. The previous 3 were LG's and for some reason never balanced right for me...I can say they def. got it right with the Century body style.

Anyways, Ive come to a crossroads of sorts again and attempting to get my debt and life under control. Unfortunately the more valuable items in my life are going 1st.

This bass is from one of Roscoe's newer lines dubbed the Century Standard plus (I actually helped with the name ) These basses are built in the same Greensboro factory with minor spec changes. I bought this beauty brand new last November. This bass is the 1st and last of its kind with some special features not found in the current or future runs. Most notably is the light ash shim between the top and back. Also the slanted pickups are an upgrade. Lastly the BEAUTIFUL Koa top.

As mentioned this bass balanced perfect. No special issues to note. Very low action with great fret work. Electronics are Bartolini with UPGRADED Roscoe Bartolini pickups and functioning 100%. These darken things up a bit over the original CB's...The body is a beautiful light piece of ash with incredible mineral streaks (see the back photo) and weighs 8.0lbs The body has been finished in an oil blend. You can really feel and hear the wood. The fretboard is a beautiful piece of Pau Ferro with nice grain.

Ive been told I tend to overstate issues but its who I am: After looking the bass over I found 2 minor body dings (as seen in picture), One appears as if its following the grain and Im not exactly sure how it got there. There is also a minor pin size bump on the side of the fretboard. None affect playability.

The bass has been played about 2 times a week since Ive owned it...about 75% at church and the other 25% church related gigs.

I paid $2200 in November.

Looking for $1750obo shipped and insured (conus) in sale or trade value. Includes a Roscoe padded gigbag

For trades....Would prefer to downgrade to pay off debts. Most interested in a Modulus Jazz or Flea . Also interested in Stingray and Sterlings. Open to other items just drop me a line.

Feel free to check my feedback on here and lightgroove21 on the bay. More pictures and info. upon request.

Wow, that's a looker. I've never seen one like that.
You shouldn't have _any_ trouble finding a new loving home for it; excellent price.

I REALLLLY don't need another 5 string Roscoe, the one I purchased from you is my main bass, I'm using it on a recording session today w Steve Holley (from Wings) on drums, it's a really important session and lightgroove's roscoe is sounding perfect IMO. I don't even want to switch basses,it feels so right on every song.
I also got a surprise thousand dollars yesterday that i wasn't expecting, so this thing is calling to me, here's a bump for self control..
HEY, THEBASICBASSIST! DON'T BE A %$#!, JUST BUY THIS! (so you can come to my apt and let me play it! )

lightgroove talked me through the sale of this, I'd never played Roscoe before, and his description of its tone and vibe were so spot on,now it's like an extension of myself, light, comfortable and plays so well i can forget about my gear and just have fun,be creative.
