I have to start by saying that this is an absolutely amazing bass. It plays just as good as my Smith, MTDs, and Elricks. I have accumulated to many basses and have decided to let this one go. The only trade that I would be interested in is a American MTD 535-24 or 535-21. I would also be interested in high end fretless basses, preferably MTD or Elrick. This bass was part of a very special project that Keith Roscoe did called The Perfect Bass, in which he only used the highest quality parts and technique. This is #10 in the design line. It was built in 2006 and is in mint condition.
This bass has a solid one-piece swamp ash body, cherry sunburst finish. The neck is Maple with a Purpleheart center lamination and Maple & Cherry accent laminations. The fingerboard is Bolivian Rosewood.
My asking price of this bass is $2000.
Here is a brief overview of how the controls on the bass work:
Bartolini 3-band EQ - The knob closest to the neck is the master volume, back and closest to the pickup is the blend control, directly down from the blend knob is the midrange cut/boost control, which is a push/pull control that allows you to cut and/or boost two separate frequencies of the midrange. The stacked knob to the rear includes the treble cut/boost control (top knob) and the cut/boost control (bottom ring). ON the back of the instrument, visible through a hole in the control cavity cover, is a small white set screw, this is the output gain control for the preamp, you can use this to raise or lower the output of the preamp to match the input gain requirement of your amp, a recording console, or to match the volume of another bass.
