Boy do I not want to sell this bass. I bought myself this bass brand new in August of 2012 as a retirement present to myself. It is literally, the best and nicest bass I've ever owned, and I've owned A LOT.
However, I sat down and figured our taxes last night, and Uncle Sam has sprung a really nasty, unexpected surprise on me.
I WILL own a Roscoe again one day. If I come up with another strategy to battle with the tax bill, this will come down.
This is an SKB 3005 with a beautiful figured myrtle top, ash body, spalted purple heart fingerboard, Aguilar OBP3 preamp, and Bartolini humbuckers. The neck is maple/purpleheart.
The bass comes with a Roscoe Hardshell case.
The bass lists at over $4400. I paid almost $3400 for it.
Trade value $2500
I will sell for $2300 firm plus shipping, or will consider a trade that nets me at least $1000 cash. I'd be interested in 5 strings, or possibly 4 strings. Fender, Lakland, Spector, Musicman, G&L.
There is only one mark on the bass, which is on the upper body, shown in the pics.
This bass sounds phenomenal. Big, rich and warm but with amazing clarity..just like a Roscoe should.
First, I will post a few pics from Rocket Music, where I obtained the bass. These, of course, are higher quality than my cell phone pics.
Here are my pics...the first showing the blemish on the bass.
