I am putting up my Sadowsky MV5 in Olympic White/Tort for sale or trade.
I have had this bass for less than two weeks, but in having this wonderful instrument, I have realized that, after a year spinning my wheels trading/selling/buying fivers, I am not comfortable playing them. Also, I only use the low B string when I tell myself to use it because I spent the extra cash for it.
So without further ado, pics.
The bass is in good condition, but has some finish flaws. You can see a scuff behind the bridge, and a short, hairline crack in the clearcoat at the neck pocket in the pics above. The bass also has two small dings in the clearcoat on the lower horn, but I don't have any photos of them, as well as the usual scuffs/swirls from being played. All blemishes are cosmetic only, and do not affect playability or structural integrity.
The bass will come with the Sadowsky ultralite case as well as Dunlop straplocks, and is strung with a very fresh set of Sadowsky Blue Label Stainless Steel strings. The strings have about two hours of play on them.
Now for the price. I am asking what I have into it, $1700 shipped CONUS.
For trades, I am up for active or passive J style four bangers, extra points for D-tuners and true single coils too. Sadowsky Metro MV/RV/UV/MS/RS 4's. Must have VTC.
Lull V4, M4V, M4
Valenti J4/Vintage J4
Low End Jazz 4, Classic 21's only
Fender Roscoe Beck IV
Lakland JO 4
Lakland DJ 4, natural/rosewood only
Fender MM4
Fender Geddy Lee
G&L JB-2 USA Only, rosewood preferred
Possibly a MM Stingray/Sterling single H
Possibly a MM Bongo 4 HH
Parts basses also welcome.
Plus cash my way on Fenders/G&L/Lakland Skylines.
NO 5+ String basses please
Please pm/email me with pics of supposed trades.
Thanks for looking!
Best,
Jusitn

I am looking for a similar bass in a 4 so I can keep the sound, playability, and feel without the discomfort.
Best,
Justin

How much does it weight?
Can you confirm the body wood?
Whats the serial number? |

*EDIT* The bass has the Hum Canceling pickups that come standard in all Metro basses, and they are in 60's J position.
Best,
Justin

Thank you all for the interest. I sincerely appreciate it.

Not true! The M means Metro and as nothing to do with the wood used. All Metro basses as an M to start the serial #.
Usually, Metro basses comes standard in Alder/rosewood or Ash/maple combo. Unless its been order with a Ash body, which is possible. This bass should be Alder. |

That was not my point though. So in this case to clarify the body should be Ash but it wouldn't have anything to do with the M in the serial #.
Again, I'm sorry. I'm confused and tired. |

Per the Sadowsky website under the Metro finishes and models page, M=Maple Fretboard/Ash body, V=Vintage (Pickguard/control plate), 5=Number of Strings. So johnnydi, your new RV4 is a Rosewod fretboard/Alder Body, Vintage (pickguard/control plate). All Metro basses serial numbers have an M for Metro. Just a bit of info and clarification for all of you out there who may have been confused by my prior post.
Best,
Justin
