Up for grabs is another rare bass from German luthier Andy Schack. I gather that these basses sold for 2000 euros and up new. 35" scale, neck-through carbon-fibre neck, Basstec pickups with 18-volt electronics and sweepable 3-band EQ. Hardshell case included.
The bass is not mint but in good condition. No neck issues except for some wear where the neck meets the fingerboard. There is also some wear on the bridge and the original battery cover is missing.
The bass plays and sounds phenomenal - the neck plays great and the fact that all three EQ bands are sweepable gives you a vast array of tones. Can provide sound clips on request. I've just come to the conclusion that I prefer lined fingerboards to unlined and will soon have another custom in the works.
Selling for $1400 CAD shipped to North America. Looking for trades for a lined fretless 4 of similar value. (+/- cash is ok)
EDIT: price drop

Thanks

Appreciate the kind words - I used pretty much all of my basses on those albums - the Bee, JAF 4 and 6, '76 Jazz, the Schack and a few others too. |

If I had cash, I would buy it off ya. I'm broke & awaiting a fretless Bee 6'er. I have plans to become loaded, though. I alredy have my invention planned (the one that will make me rich, that is...). It's called, "the vocalist capo!" It fits comfortably around the neck of the vocalist in need of "altering"/ be it pitch, range, or just attitude. Easy adjustablity. Simply tighten until desired "adjustments" are achieved.
Best of luck in moving your bass. Give 'er! |

I dig the invention idea too, and think it should be extended to lead guitarists. |

Thanks

Dan | Hi Dan,
Yes, it does take double-ball strings. If that's a bit of a turn-off, you can get an attachment that enables you to use single-ball strings - I think it goes for $25 or so.
Ciubz - thanks man! It does indeed sound great for recording! |
