The fire sale continues as I start to post up my active basses to fund / trade for a 5 string passive jazz bass.

This is a great playing bass with my favorite features being the tighter string spacing and buttery smooth neck. I love the tone and have found it to be very versatile as I have gigged it with a classic rock cover band and a modern hard rock band.

It is currently strung with D’Addario Chromes (not pictured). These flatwound strings really take the bite folks complain about out of the EMG HZs. The tension on chromes is in the middle on my flatwound scale with TI flats being low tension and fender flats being high tension.

I’m not sure if you all would see this as a positive or negative, but I need to throw it out there. I am the original owner of this bass – I purchased it from GC in 2008 and can provide the sales receipt. A couple months ago I noticed that the bass control really did not do anything. It wasn’t a big deal to me since I didn’t use it much anyway. Then, I noticed that the bridge pickup volume was very low.

Fast forward to December 2009 and I contact Schecter to see if this is covered under warranty and it was! They have a lifetime warranty and did not even ask for my sales receipt. I shipped the bass to them and they replaced the preamp, input jack, and blend pot. Now there are no issues with the electronics. I will provide the documentation from Schecter to the buyer.

The condition of the bass is very good – no significant nicks or scratches. The only problem that I see is that the gold in the bridge and tuners is fading. I have made my best attempt to capture this in the pictures.

-------------------------

As far as price goes, a quick search of this forum shows a street value of $450. That is where I'll go - $450 shipped.(MusiciansFriend has one used for $659)

I am also including a roadrunner hardshell case.

For trades, I am only looking for 5 string passive (or switchable active/passive) jazz basses. I am not looking to add cash on my side to any trades since I do not have said cash.

------------------------

Now, on with the pictures and specs!

I love this bass. I have one just like this. I have owned some very nice basses but if you like the rock sound this is the one to have. I was thinking of buying it for a backup but I would rather have the black one just to change up the color. BUMP for a great bass!

These are great basses and I regret selling mine. It was either that or my VB5. Free bump.

These are nice basses. I had the exact same one you pictured and the black one just like it. Bought them both new and toured nationally with them. Black one was my main. If these came with barts and some kind of name brand pre....WOW they would be unstoppable. I went with them because they were mahogany, and neck through.
One intersting thing. The pre amp is 18v. I replaced the batteries in my black one. Then went to do the natural one and it was 9 volt??? ***?? From the factory. No extra battery connection, no extra wiring ect....nothing. Built straight 9v. The were ordered at the same time. I never played the natual one so I didnt worry bout it.
I will say one thing....once you break these in they feel alot "cozier" . I played my Black one non stop, every rehearsal every show, on tour, off tour....for a year and a half.
When I picked up the back up it was stiff and cold feeling. When I picked up my main, it was buttery and comfy.

Is that price "shipped" or "plus shipping?"

$450 shipped in a hard case. Sorry, that was totally unclear. I'll edit the OP.
