Up for sale is my Skjold Custom Shop 6 string bass. First, here's some interesting information about the bass. When I took ownership of it, Pete Skjold was kind enough to share some background information about it. After its build, Pete loaned this bass to solo bassist Damian Erskine to get an idea of what Damian wanted on his Skjold Signature bass that Pete was going to make for him. Of course, later Pete came up with the Whaleback design for Damian. Pete also informed me that the pickups on this bass are a product of his collaboration with Kent Armstrong, the famous manufacturer of pickups used by top bass manufacturers such as Lakland, Celinder, Conklin, Benavente, New York Bass Works, and Eshenbaugh.
As you can imagine, this bass sounds incredible. At 9.32 lbs., it is light in weight for a 6 string. The famous Skjold tone is there in spades. The reason I'm selling it is that I'm retreating back to 4 and 5 strings. Someone needing a finely crafted 6er will be thrilled with this bass.
The condition of the bass is exceptional. I cannot find any flaw, ding, or scratch of any kind. It's as if Pete just handed the bass over to me at his shop.
