FS/FT: Spector neck-thru 5 string, Czech made, Blondie!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Spector neck-thru 5 string. Looks, sounds and plays awesome. I just put a new set of D'Addario XL strings on it (will include used set of DR Black Beauties). The body has been refinished natural with tung oil (previously natural). Frets in the first position are pretty worn, but surprisingly don't buzz.
Here are the specs...
Body: Flame maple
Neck: Eastern rock maple
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Pickups: EMG DC40
Preamp: EMG BQC 3 band
Tuners: Schaller (gold)
Bridge: Brass-Zinc alloy (gold)
Strap locks: Schaller (gold)
Scale: 34"
Weight: 10lbs.

The bass isn't perfect (it's used ), but I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I am asking $900.00 shipped (cont. U.S. only) in a generic hard case. I am currently in the Phoenix area for the week, so if you are local and want to look at it, drop me a PM.
Trades? You can run anything by me, but here are some things I am looking for...
Markbass amps LMII, III, etc...
Markbass Traveler 121H
Markbass Standard 102HF
DI boxes. Countryman, Radial, DBX, etc....
Markbass CMD 121H
EMG 35 (4 string) pickups (DC, CS)
Bartolini NTMB
Mono/iGig bags

I have one EXACTLY like this and LOVE it. If you didn't see, its 34" scale. The necks are also different then. SOO easy to play and fast. Bump for a great bass and great seller.

Yeah, the 34" scale is pretty cool. The B string sounds as good as the 35" scale Spector, IMO.

It's my old bass! It looks great since you refinished it. I wish I had the money to buy this back. It looks great!

Nice refin.

In the "before" pix, looks like a matte finish pre-Euro NSCR bridge.

But in the "after" pix, looks like the bridge has been buffed out and/or replated - it's smoother and shinier looking. Or is it a new replacement Euro bridge?

Good catch! Yes it is a newer Euro bridge. It reduced the weight of the bass by almost 1/2lb.

Yowza. Is the old one brass, new one aluminum? Any noticable differences in tone or balance, before and after?

The old one is brass, the new one is brass/zinc alloy. Tonal difference? Perhaps, but I didn't notice any. Balance? Still balances pretty well strapped or sitting.
