FS/FT Spector NSCRFM early Czech 4 string

This is an early Czech 4 string, serial number is in the cavity. I believe it is a 98/99. It has the dot neck and the EMG P/J setup and 9v EMG Preamp. It also is an oil finish model. It has it's share of bumps and dents, but nothing bad at all and not real noticable due to the Oil finish. Fretwear is minimal and hardware was switched at some point from gold to black with stock spector bridge and tuners, also strap buttons-Dunlops. (The original bridge and tuners are included.)

I must say, this bass is the growliest bass I have ever had and I have had a couple of Euro LX Models. This would be the last one I would want to sell, but I am switching over to five strings. Weight and balance are good, the bass is under 9 lbs. Right now it is strung BEAD without any mods so it can go right back to EADG without issue.'

I am looking for a fretted and fretless five string- run any ideas you may have by me, the worst I can say is no.

Sale price is Price Drop $1000.00 Shipped to the lower 48.

Nope it has a 125,105,85,65. The strings are one top of the nut slots, but it actually plays really well, The nut is cut for EADG and those string will sit in there nicely.

Yes, sorry EMG preamp with Master Volume, Blend, Bass and Treble. The neck is the standard three piece maple and the body wings are solid figured maple. There is actually more figuring on the back than the front.

I've got one of these (SSD) along w/ more expensive basses and my old soundman always told me.."only play the spector"

can get a sound very similar to Eddie Jackson early Queensryche

I have never once had to touch the neck or the setups, and that's in living from Texas to New england. Best neck I've ever had, only the Fodera or Roscoe can hang w/ it for playability and none of them get that grinding E string that's perfect for rock and harder stuff.

Bump because NS4CRFM's are amazing basses. A total value if you want the best of Spector at a budget price. I love mine, if you hadn't noticed!

Gahhh, gorgeous.

I settled for an amber burst NS4CRFM, but I secretly have always preferred the natural oil finish look.

In the switch from gold to black tuners, did new holes have to be drilled for the anchor tabs on the back of the headstock?

I was guessing that both the gold and the black Schallers are the older pattern and have the tab on the side of the tuner case rather than the bottom, so perhaps no new holes were drilled.

Good question, I didn't do the switchout, but I know the previous owner very well and he does things right so I would say there were no changes made to the headstock whatsoever.

The original solid brass bridge is very clean and doesn't show the normal wear on the bass side, so I am thinking this switch was done long ago. The previous owner may have purchased the bass new.
