***SOLD SOLD SOLD***
Sorry guys, this bass is gone...
-----------------------------------
Unbelievable deal on a killer bass... About the Bass:
I am selling (or am open to trade) a rare 1996 Spector SSD NS-5 (made in Woodstock NY, serial #157). This has the transitional SSD logo on the headstock which is different from the current logo in use. I was told by PJ from Spector that this bass is a 1990's version of the current NS-5XL. But mine is a 34" scale where the new ones are 35's.
***NEW REDUCED*** Sale price is $2250.
I'd consider a "Fender-like" modern bass in trade -- so offer me a Sadowsky Vintage or Will Lee, A Nordy VJ or J/P, etc. plus/minus cash and we'll talk.
Feel free to PM me for more info if needed.

String Spacing I measured at just slightly over 17mm.
Nut width is 1 3/4 inches
Weight is 9.8 lbs.
Overall this is an extremely comfortable bass to play for long gigs. You don't really feel the weight because the body is so compact and sits in a great spot on your body and it's sculpted in the back (rounded). Might be a problem if you have a rock hard 6 pack, but for me the support of the shape of the body was perfect.
I will ship this in a Spector black tolex HSC.

Bump | In all fairness, the bass you see in this video is not the bass you are hearing. I own the agency and I produce all the videos but that's not me or the Spector in that video. When we got to the video shoot for Grooveline we didn't think the bass he brought (a bright orange MusicMan Stingray) looked very good on camera. I had my Spector in the car, so I lent it to the bass player just for the shoot.

I used this as my primary gigging bass for many years and I've always babied it. The sound is awesome with the active EMG setup. Neck is great. Intonation solid, etc. Really it's everything I ever needed/wanted. It's in great shape too (see the pictures)
My primary band plays tons of covers and dance music and I've actually had to start playing a lot of keyboard bass to cover the synth/pop sounds heard on today's records. As a result I found myself longing to pick up a really traditional bass to "compensate" so I'd enjoy some old school bass playing when I'm not doing the keyboard parts. I picked up a '66 Precision that I'm playing almost exclusively now so the Spector stays home. Time to send her on to a good new home.
Sale price is $2250.
