In the month of January, my MusicMan Bongo was stolen. I attempted to trade this bass several times as I never used it quite as much as I'd have liked to and would've needed an electric bass.
I got the Bongo back (thank you Scranton Police department), but have decided I want an upright bass (and have been taking lessons on one for a while.)

As such, that's really all I'm looking for trade-wise, but I will listen to any offers.

The price I'm looking for is $800 SHIPPED, and I'm in no big rush to sell it, but feel free to haggle with me anyway.

The bass itself is in mint condition, the case is not.
The case has those 4 little rubber legs, in which case most have either fallen off or begun to fall off, and there is one giant scratch on the case.
Look at the photos for that, I did my best to try to capture it but flash cameras do a bit to prohibit it.

Awesome that you got your Bongo back. Hopefully there was no damage. Love the sound on these Tacomas. Good luck with the sale.

thanks! the Bongo was quite silly: the pawn shop it was at changed the strings, but removed the batteries (...do pawn shops know anything about basses?) and apart from that, nothing changed.

It appears to have a pickup/electronics - just wanted to verify that.

It does indeed have an LR Baggs PUP on it.

Fun fact for today's bump:
serial number is G 192 5 12 0
which indicates it was made in 2003 and manufactured on July 16th.
Tacoma was bought out by Fender in 2004, it was made on
Thus, it is a pre-fender buyout Thunderchief!

Drop me a reply & chances are you'll not only sell the bass, but perhaps pick me up as a student as well.

If you're interested in teaching a 53 y/o electric banjo player who wants to expand into bass, that is... ;-)

local sell fell through because of a crack in the back that I believe has always been there & not effected anything, but I will take a picture of it asap and let the world decide.

I had the crack examined. Had a local luthier say it was an easy fix, as the body of a tacoma is a two piece and its not split too much, supposedly could be fixed by keeping in a dehumidified area while in a tight clamp for a long while with maybe a bit of other luthier trickery. Told me it would cost $100-200, which I said thanks but no thanks: but i officially had it investigated.

Make an offer on her if you want. I had someone else offer me $720, but it turns out that person was a total internet scam artist. High five?

Great bass. FWIW, mine cracked as well due to the humidity. I sent it back to Tacoma and they fixed it free of charge. The satin finish is delicate, but this one of the things that enables the bass to really sing.

Free real world experience bump.

its a shame I'm not the original owner so I don't technically have the lifetime warranty, otherwise I'd try to just ship it off and get it fixed free and then sell it.

Bump for a sweet bass. Does the fireplace gnome go with? He seems very interested in the bass.

Pictures of crack & the dent on it, with the dent circled so even a casual observer should see it in its full extent:

also note I'm not looking for $800 anymore, I'm looking for a best offer. I still want a certain amount, but, it'd be unreasonable of me to ask for the same amount with the crack.
