FS/FT: Tobias Growler 5 USA Made

FS: 700 shipped (I paid almost 850 shipped a few weeks ago)
FT: 4/5 string American (Fender, G&L, EBMM) or higher end basses (no imports except for Lakland please)

Tobias Growler 5 string serial number 7880 in natural ash with a 24 fret maple neck and wenge fretboard. I think the neck stringers are bubinga or purpleheart. No case although I can probably come up with a gig bag.

The "bad":

• The bass has wear from being played, grooves on the pickup, worn spot where you would plant your thumb near the pickup and scratches and small dings
• Cosmetically the neck pocket is not the tightest - but I installed an insert kit (steel inserts and machine screws so no more stripped neck screws!) so the neck is joined to the body very tightly and the bass sustains great now.

The "good":

• The bass SOUNDS amazing with the dual pre-amp and quad coil MM style Bartolini pickup.
• The two mid switches are cool - down for slap, middle for fingerstlye, and up for a mid boost
• Balances great (~9 lbs on my bathroom scale)
• The coolest headstock in the business!
• It looks cool overall - very good shape for a bass that was played for 10+ years
• Frets have tons of life left - not much wear at all
• I have setup the action and intonation and it plays great - a very fast 5 string
• Grover tuners
• great rock and metal bass

Nice Growler. I'm curious about your LEJ7. Is that really a 2001? I had no idea they've made a seven string back then. I'm totally lovin my LEJ6 too.

How much relief is in the neck and is there trust rod adjustment left? Is the neck straight from one end to the other except for the adjusted relief.
