FS/FT: USA Fender Deluxe Jazz-amber/maple, custom G&G tweed/gold plush case - AWESOME
 

This beauty has been my main bass for a while, but I feel like it's time for a change. This is tentative, and I won't be heartbroken if she doesn't sell.

This is an American Fender Jazz Deluxe, circa 2003. Here are the highlights:

-Alder body finished in gorgeous translucent amber
-Weight is about 8.4 lbs, give or take - perfect!
-Tortoise shell pickguard
-Maple neck/board - fantastically smooth with a nice broken-in feel
-Abalone dot inlays - gorgeous!
-G&L USA single-coil pickups - installed professionally. Cream covers added. Black ones will be included if you wish.
-Audere Deluxe J preamp (controls are vol, mid/bal stack, treb/bass stack, tone) - this preamp sounds amazing!
-Ultra-lite Fender tuners
-Schaller strap locks w/ Planet Waves strap
-Recent professional setup - medium low action
-New LaBella nickel plated 45-105 (medium) strings (4 hours playing time max)
-Frets recently crowned and polished
-G&G custom tweed case w/ gold plush interior - specially ordered from G&G.

Some minor imperfections - a small neck pocket flaw (see pic 7) that is in the clear coat only and totally stable. Some very light wear and dings on the rear bout. I think there may be a tiny ding on the Audere control plate and a tiny headstock ding. Some light scratches on the fretboard. Frets have plenty of life in them. There may be some minor blemishes, but I baby my gear. I tried to capture the flaws in the pictures, but it was difficult because they're really not that noticeable.

I previously had DiMarzio Model Js in the bass... you can hear some recordings with the DiMarzios (and the Audere) that my old old band did here:

I don't have any recordings featuring the current G&L pickups, but they're a little clearer sounding than the DiMarzios and maybe not quite as hot. The Audere gives you plenty of volume and tonal options, though.

$1100 shipped in the G&G case, or best offer. Lower 48 only. Paypal, money order, or cashier's check.
Note: the case was expensive. I will lower the price significantly if you don't want the case or want a less-expensive case instead.


Possible trades: G&L Jazz bass, maybe a Lakland of some sort, fiesta red P-bass (really want a G&L SB1), GK MB212 combo, open to suggestions but I'm gonna be picky.
