FS/FT: USA Spector NS-5P

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale or trade: a very rare 5 string Stuart Spector Design NS-5P. The NS-5s from this era have 34" scales and sport an "SSD" logo since Stuart hadn't yet re-acquired the rights to the Spector brand. This one is number 64 of 211 basses produced. For anyone that wants the classic spector sound in a 5 string, but doesn't like the 35" scale Spector now typically uses ... this is your bass. A solid collectors item as much as it is a solid gigging bass.

Body: Solid AAAA Quilted Maple
Neck: 3-piece Hard Rock Maple, neck-through
Fingerboard: Pau Ferro w/ Abalone Inlays
Pickups: EMG-DCs + Piezo bridge
Preamp: 18v Haz Lab, separate 2-band eqs for magnetic and piezo
Bridge and Nut: Brass

Cash sale at $2600 shipped to the lower 48 preferred, but I can look at trades, especially partials. Ps, Js, Rays, Ricks, and T-birds + cash. Original hardshell case included.

Dangit! Why do these things always pop up at the worst time. Only the second time I've seen an NS-5P show up, and both times I've been grossly unable to afford it .

Yep it's 5/8", 17mm at the bridge.

Weight feels like 10 lbs or maybe a little more, I'll try to get it on a scale for you.

Yeah my bad, I put the specs and price below the photos ... I just wanted to get the photos up front to get the drool flowing

The piezo is a rare and expensive option that gives the bass a really unique sound when blended into the magnetic in small quantities. Its crispness nicely complements the sharp/firm sounding EMG highs.
