I just received this bass on a trade and quickly realized that it isn't exactly what I was looking for. I am a Bart lover, and love their smooth tone. That being said, this is prolly the antithesis of that, a bit of a snarling dog thanks to the custom Nordstrands.
The pickups are a custom set of Nordstrand Big Singles that are 5% underwound to produce a very smooth but aggressive tone.
Bass is 35” scale
The preamp is an Aguilar OBP-1, 2-band preamp with bass and treble controls. This bass has some SERIOUS output!
The neck is maple, finished in a silky smooth satin finish with a stunning AAA flame maple fret board.
The weight is a very comfy 8.5lbs.
All of the hardware is black and made by Hipshot: tuners, bridge and string retainers.
Comes with Dunlop strap locks installed.
The body shows some light swirling and scratches.
There is one ding on the upper edge of the belly cut area.
There is some wear on the bass side of the bridge.
The frets show minimal wear.
There is one hole that has been filled in on the headstock, from a different type of string retainer.
Action is low, playability is supreme and the tone is a great, aggressive Jazz bass tone.
The bass will come in a simple but nice black Fender gig bag.
